am i being thick here...the link doesnt mention expansys at all

No it doesn't. The article has changed... basically, I think if you wade through earlier posts, there was a discussion about it and retailers getting stock.

Amazon are not getting any, hence orders cancelled. CPW and Dixons will... they have not removed the touchpad changes from their sites.

There was talk that HP would focus their next batch on retailers as opposed to online only. I would get an update from Expansys and if you could share it here that would be useful for others too.

    who with please?

    thanks

Yes - how do you sign up for alerts?

Someone said earlier that PCW / DSG coped well last time. Not for me. I had a touchpad in the basket for PCW and for Dixons within 10 mins after they reduced the price - took an hour to get through to the end of Dixons checkout / PCW reservation and PCW just lost the details whereas Dixons then told me there was stock error. Wasted an hour and unable to buy something that was successfully placed in my basket (for Dixons) with stock available at a local store (for PCW).

I did it and when I clicked confirm it would not confirm but instead had an error. I would be cautious as it could just simply be a way of collecting emails for marketing...

    Best bet to check google...

Dixons still have them on their site, but up to full price again.

  • Does anyone have a link to the Pre 3 page?

I am hoping to get both HP products @ reduced price :P

Dont know if the wife will be please though, spending over 150squid on junk I will never use :rotfl:

I have to admit I wasnt even interested in the tablet, or any tablet for that matter, untill the crazy buying frenzy kicked in. Like sheep, I fell in with the crowd. I am just glad that I wasnt hanging around with some of the guys in London last week, else I would also have been running around looting, pillaging and other 'ing things :p

Not yet, not till Dixon have stock from HP. If Dixons knew they were not getting any more in stock they'd just remove it from the page or do the usual way of resolving out of stock items (I.E you click on a link and it takes you to a page saying not in stock, but heres a alternative). The've probably specifically recoded the HP page so its unclickable for more information button. And once they get a significant order of stock in they'll either do what they did last time and announce it several hours before the price drops with a time, or slowly release stock over the course of a day. Or if there is enough stock, they will distribute to physical stores so its equal opportunities.

Hell they might even have a super special Bank Holiday Monday.

And to those saying Dixons/Pcworld online had no issues, you are wrong, they had a slight issue where the item would disappear from your basket if someone had already purchased it, (due to how the order system works) but, they didn't sell you what they didn't have which is much better as you know you didn't get one so you can continue the search, (unlike Expansys and Amazon which just canceled orders)
