I added to the Tesco facebook page as well - not very eloquently mind you (pressed enter before re-reading what I wrote) - need to get some sleep.

    Me:
Does Tesco not believe in customer goodwill and offer refund to those that paid full price for the HP Touchpad even though it is refunded. Argos have taken this action - does Tesco not believe in doing the same?

    Me again:
What is Tesco's stance on goodwill for their TouchPad customers?

Tesco Customer Care (after taking a approx 20 mins)
I currently don’t have any information on this, but I’ll chase this up and get back to you.

    Thanks,
    Peter-Customer care

This sounds to me he recognises the potential for a PR !!!!-up and will refer to someone else.

Oh well... will have to wait and see. Dont get facebook at work so me miss the response or they wont respond at all.

Anyone else fancy adding to the facebook tomorrow?

I'll have a look and post to the forum... maybe you'll be able to see from work. I would suggest anybody with a gripe against Tesco does as you have and write on their facebook page... and try and keep this to topic for now... as I think your options are clear... a real pain though, Grrr!

    Looby,

I'm unsure what you're trying to attain here. I shall move my efforts to outside of MSE because it is clearly upsetting people.

Apologies all, see you later and good luck.

Thanks for all your input HC

If you read the thread a few pages back, a debate has taken place regarding the price reduction and what can be done if you have paid full price and want to get the price reduced.

Tesco are not doing this (reducing the price) and it is their right to do this.

You have an option to return the tablet.

Keep it, at the expensive cost

Return and wait for the next batch of tablets to arrive from HP and get one

Or, buy one from eBay having returned your original purchase from Tesco...

Basically, the Tesco discusson can go on and on and reach the same conclusion... If you bought one, Tesco won't currently drop the price. You either pay up or return.

Check out their Facebook page and post your comments there... I have posted a conversation I had with them on this thread. I suggest reading a few pages back to gague what the situation is with Tesco and reducing the price... it looks like it won't happen.

Sorry if you felt a bit ruffled... and hope you get your tablet at the cost you want.

Also posted on Tescos wall. But to be honest, this behavior is nothing new for a company that has proved time and time again that it does not care what the masses think of it.

That's right. They (Amazon) Expansys, Dabs, Insight, Argos will not be getting any more of them.

There is stock coming but I belive these will go to CPW and PCWorld for sure... I may be wrong. What I do know is that more stock will be arriving so there will be a second wave and an opportunity to get one...

Firstly, I am totally on the side of those wanting to get a Touchpad at £89/119 but I can't believe people are so surprised that Tesco want to charge people the full price that they accepted when they bought the product. Tesco are a business and as far as I can tell, are in no position to have to pass the price cut onto all of us bargain hunters!

Odd that the remaining stock will go to them if indeed that does happen, Amazon surely are much bigger business, still HP are going to concentrate on business much more rather than for home use so maybe they dont give a flick

As far as I can gather (and I could well be wrong) people are finding it wrong because HP have said that it will reimburse retailers for the loss, but it looks as if Tescos are trying to get the rebate AND the money from the consumer.
