More stock on its way, Online retailers only being excluded from the upcoming sale. (Expansys and Amazon and Stuff.net)0 -

It's clear that serves are rubbish at trafficking such huge demand. It's up to individual shops to make their own rules. It took a long time for stores to decide to price drop. Retailers can learn alot from this experience.
Yeah totally, it's really shown how weak the infrastructure of the majroty of the internet is. Even Amazon barely held it together. I've read several posts noting the irony that HP will have provided many of these servers!
I figured when Argos announced their reduction Tescos would have too - seemed like one of the last major retailers to drop their prices. Have also read a couple of comments noting that Tesco removed its price match comparison with Currys when the Touchpad deal was announced. I can't personally substantiate that though.0 -

I might take to twitter and facebook. Sure must be good idea to try and discuss this with them in a public media.
Not going to give up until either 14days is up or Tesco release public statement.
My job doesnt allow much time to keep at this though. sigh.
Keep at it guys - fight the power (lol)
I agree, companies rely on their reputation, even in oligopolies like the supermarkets. Like Tesco might say...Every little helps... :rotfl:0 -
Can anyone explain what the HP Touchpad Argos reservation number requests thread is all about?
Is Argos managing the thread?0 -
Anyone have any 'inside information' on Play.com?
they are still forcing customers to pay full price, and refusing to reduce the price.
mine arrives tommorrow, so it's shame to have to send it back.
Everytime I call their customer services, I keep getting an indian call centre, and the employees don't seem to under stand the situation and seem to be ready from scripts.
Maybe the full update hasn't reached india yet, and if we complain we may get an english representative and get this sorted.0 -

Some people ordered more than one from Argos and were given a reservation number.
Some people have been kind enough to give that number to those who have missed out or, have had their orders cancelled say from Amazon etc. A seperate thread was created to keep it seperate and on topic.
Folk posted in there asking for reservation numbers so they could get their hands on a touchpad....0 -

That's entirely right, incidentally they've completed removed that tab from the information box at the bottom of their page which now only shows "Description" and "Features".
Somehow the 99p saving they offered against Argos and Curry's original RRP doesn't stack up against the £260 saving you now get the other way!0
