Mainly speculation, other than the Argos twitter account saying they will give an update on pricing tomorrow. The update could just be they are going to continue selling it at £349.99
Um, except if you text Argos stock checker the item code and your postcode it replies telling you the price of £89 / £115 but out of stock implying Argos are lowering their prices.0 -

By their very own T&C's, there is no † next to the product name hence it is covered by the guarantee.
This is just my take on things.

This symbol is in the catalogue and the Argos computer when you buy/pay in the shop.0 -
Usually if Amazon are getting more stock of an item it states More Stock Coming Soon and it still allows you to order so dont think its Amazon getting the 1000 stock.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

but it was not on the website (nor is it showing now) when I ordered online.
I've taken screen dumps to prove it if they ask.
DSR applie if you buy online or by phone, it doesn't matter what their policy is....DSR is the law.0 -

Yeah but many people say they are on a 'list' for when they possibly get more stock. They haven't been cancelled but awaiting for dispatch with no date confirmed. So it could be them. Of course it could just be a unfounded rumour these 1000 TP's. Wonder where the info came from?0 -
Didn't spot this before on the Argos webpage for the 16 GB TouchPad:PLEASE NOTE: Only 1 tablet per order. Argos will endeavour to deliver FREE on the launch date. However Argos cannot be held responsible for any delay in delivery if there is a disruption to delivery services outside of our control. If the release date slips the tablet will be delivered on the new release date.
Additional Information
Current selling price valid until 26/08/2011
And the 32 GB page states the above, but with a different date:Current selling price valid until 12/10/20110 -

Does that mean my order will be cancelled? It states:
Not yet dispatched
We'll notify you via e-mail when we have an estimated delivery date for this item. It will be dispatched separately. You can cancel at any time.
If it is so be it. But it would be nice to know one way or the other...0 -
@martin451 Both those things have been on website for while. The 32gb date hasnt changed but 16gb date changed today. It has said only 1 per order since Saturday when I reserved one myself. Not sure if the 1 per order still counts with new reduction. I only ordered 1 anyway.0

No not necessarily. It depends if Amazon can get more stock. It is hopefully a good sign it's not been cancelled yet but awaiting dispatch date.
Maybe they will get some from HP. HP had loads to shift in USA sale & site had an epic fail, phone lines crazy. Maybe they just want to pass it on to someone else to deal with. May be why Amazon did it at midnight coz they knew it would !!!!!! their sight so would be minimal damage/loss to them at that time in UK.
Fingers crossed you get one.0 -
Well I'm off to bed. Hoping to wake up to good news from Argos.
