It will be interesting to see if Tesco now pricematch argos, or just keep on burying their head in the sand.

I can't believe some of the posts here.

People making reservations in the hope that prices fall and panicking when it appears they won't.

Retailers are in no way obliged to offer you an item at a discount price. Just as you are in no way obliged to purchase an item from a specific retailer.

Those people who are talking about returning stock if they don't get the discount applied are abusing the distance selling regulations for material gain.

I know this post won't win many friends here but if retailers are demonstrably out of pocket due to people abusing the spirit (if not the letter) of the distance selling regs then you will find that the regs get changed, and not in our favour, going forward.

The moral of the story is that if you aren't willing to pay the price an item is advertised at then don't reserve or buy it because not liking a price isn't a valid reason to return goods.

Does anyone know if currys etc will be reducing the charging dock? I refuse to pay Argos delivery for it and there's not a staples nearby so those options aren't viable :)

    Well, this has been fun...

I had a couple in my basket with Staples early yesterday and got to checkout to see they then added the VAT, so presumably decided to make themselves a 20% profit on the sale. So I cancelled that.

I had one lined up at Argos, but didn't want to get into the haggling about the price after the sale malarky, so I let that go.

I've looked around places but haven't picked one up.

I went into town yesterday and didn't find a touchpad but I did buy a coat ready for winter. And got a 10% reduction on that, so that was a result.

I also looked at a laptop in Sainsbury's (a different "glitch" thread), but didn't get one of them either.

And I checked out iPads and found out that Orange and Three both have a similar pricing offer, but Three's has 15 MB per monther whereas Orange is 1 MB + 1 MB off-peak. I didn't get one of them either!

I see some people have bought them apparently to sell on ebay, but who is going to want to pay more than £89/£115 for one?

It's been an interesting pastime, but I guess they're gone now and I'm no worse off.

Still heard nothing from Staples!!!!! I've got 2 reserved at Argos but I don't want to go and buy them and then get the ones from Staples.

Just rang and we haven't got any - a cancellation email would have been nice!!! Now to hope Argos haven't sold our reserved ones!
