This rumoured 1000 touchpads to come to one retailer, anyone got some ideas?

Amazon? Reason I say it because since early this morning I ordered a the 16 gig touchpad from them and it says:

    Not yet dispatched

We'll notify you via e-mail when we have an estimated delivery date for this item.

So I conclude that while it is not in stock, I assume they are getting more in... otherwise the order would have been cancelled? No?

And YES I ordered direct from Amazon... people need to understand that Amazon has many subsellers who can charge what price they want. It is important to do your homework.

OK Im confused, when I asked earlier I was told Im 24 hours too late as everywheres sold out so why am I reading the price reduction is coming into effect tomorrow? Who is right?

Well Dixons, Amazon, PC World, Currys, Misco, Dabs, Best Buy, Carphone Warehouse, Comet have all sold out at £89.

People are now just hoping the Argos drop the price, but they have all been reserved already so if they do you have very little chance of getting one.

Never before has Argos been so desirable. I hope Argos do drop the price, otherwise everyone here has wasted alot of time :-)

Most places have sold out or like Argos all items have been reserved/ordered already. Play still have some but at full price & people are saying they are not going to reduce price. Basically what was around has gone. I've been trying since weekend to bag one 1st in USA then here.

Did I miss a price reduction/promise from Argos?

True especially when they can then do what everyone on amazon is doing and selling at a significant profit.

Mainly speculation, other than the Argos twitter account saying they will give an update on pricing tomorrow. The update could just be they are going to continue selling it at £349.99
  • or buy one on ebay for £200 seems to be the cheapest place at present which of course makes it significantly less attractive. I wonder how many people on this forum are feeling if they get to the stage where they cant get it for less than £120, then they would actually entertain spending £200 to get one? not many i am guessing.

With Argos to reserve for store pick up they always say the price you pay is on the day you pick it up regardless of what it says on net although usually its fine. Might work in some peoples favour IF (a big if) they do reduce it the day you go to pick it up
