OMG I cant believe I left my beloved simple instructions and he mucked it up. :wall:
I was making a batch of potato and leek soup in the slow cooker and I had all the veg prepped and ready just to go into the sc. I asked him to do it while I was out today and just told him to put it all in and add the veg/chicken stock. Well he's only went and used a beef stock! :rolleyes2 the smell is awful, he said he couldnt find the veg or chicken stock cubes, they where on the bench beside the veg and sc.
At least he tried but it's going to be a different dinner tomorrow now

Men! Still edible though. Beef stock is just that bit stronger tasting really, not as subtle as chicken or veg. Might taste quite nice?0
-
Oh I dont know if its edible or not, the smell isnt too pleasing at all. Will leave it to cool and liquidise and then will maybe taste it, or make him do it mwahahahahaha
Cath0 -
Liquidise it and then put it by (or in the freezer) and use it as the gravy/stock for the next mince/beef stew/casserole type thing that you do.
I often make soups out the remains of my veg box before they get beyond use and the soups don't alway "work". So I then deliberately chuck beef stock cubes at them, whizz then up, and use them as the base for mince etc. They've never failed me yet.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Just skimmed the posts since earlier this evening. Welcome Stormybay! Like many others I have read some of your thread on the other board. Feeling for you in your heartbreaking situation. But remember while John's body may have died his love for you and your children is immortal. You will make it through this, and his love will help you.
Goodnight all, once I finish this very well deserved wine, I'm off to my bed:D
