Hello all! Welcome to the new posters and happy anniversary to Pooky, hope you feel better soon.
Yesterday was a long day, driving to the in-laws in that awful rain, the spray on the motorways was horrible and some of the drivers were totally crazy! Anyway we got there in time for lunch, had a nice lunch at a restaurant near to them, and then we had to leave reasonably early because DS20 had arranged to meet his friends for a drink last night. Tried not to be very cross with OH because we could easily have got back for dinner with my friends after all  . Oh well.
Today is another weird day in the FF household; someone has to go and collect DS20 from wherever he crashed last night, no idea at the moment  and then DD22 needs a lift to the station to get her train back up north. I hate it when they go!
Not much else planned today apart from wading through the pile of ironing which has reapppeared in the basket, does it actually BREED in there?
Aussielass, that's a beautiful kitchen! Bet you can't wait to get in there and start cooking, old style!
Have a great day everyone

Hello,
Haven't had a hance to read/post in the daily for a few days so I hope everyone is well.
Had some good news yesterday - got a letter saying that I am 'longlisted' for a job I applied for, and I have to go for a shortlisting interview on Jan. 15th, so things are looking up
We have wardrobes!!! Put them up yesterday and they look pretty good. They were a nightmare to put up though - the IKEA PAX wardrobes, and one of them has a mirrored door - its so heavy that the wall plugs on the screws snapped off as soon as we screwed the hinges in. Anyway, its up now, and I am taking the opportunity to sort out my clothes (more for the Ebay pile ), and sort the flat out a bit - the wardrobes mean we've gained some space in our chest and airing cupboard, which can now be filled with stuff from the living room. Yeah, we have a lot of stuff.
OH watched Paul McKenna Will Make You Thin the other night, and is now following it - so far, he's doing really well and I'm very impressed. Hopefully it will do the trick - weighed himself at my Mum's and he's a big chap now!
Did anyone get the Guide to Free Stuff in the Guardian yesterday? I did, but haven't had chance to read it yet. I'll need it after spending £1.40 on the paper!
Think I'll do some Ebay listings today, and some ironing later on if my washing is dry.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday.
Breakfast: Toast
Lunch: Leftover Chinese (we got so engrossed in building the wardrobes yesterday, it was gone 9.00 before we even thought about dinner)
Dinner: Barbecue Chicken drumsticks with riceWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Hello
Welcome newbies, I'm fairly new to this myself and its great :j have felt really inspired to sort out my debts since I joined in
Hugs to those who are still feeling unwell and good luck with the scan valantinex :rotfl:
Having a bit of a lazy day today, have spent the morning sat in pjs reading through the forums and getting some ideas of things to try in my new slow cooker. Plan to write this, finish my brew and then get on with a few jobs.
Main plan for today is to go through cupbords and cook books and plan menu for the week that uses up as much stuff thats been sitting gathering dust... does one girls really need 7 tins of borlotti beans?!!!think I've have a brain blip when doing the shopping at some point. Hope to get a list together of stuff I should be able to get off the market tomorrow, so I avoid the temptation of the supermarket. :j Need to get a few bits posted on ebay, but I discovered yesterday after i'd taken pics of all my bits and bobs that I seem to have mislaid the cable that links the camera to the computer
doh!!! Some box unpacking on the horizon me thinks
Have a great long list of things I need to sort out before I move but as it's sunday and I doubt there's going to be anywhere open I've chosen to ignor it for the now!! Instead have just spent £45 buying 17 birthday/christmas presents off the Boots and Superdrug websites... all half price or less so that should save me a fair few pennies over the next few monthsn:D
Off to top up the tea pot :coffee:
have a great day everyone

Well off to shower and hit the sack. Got all my bits and pieces done. I was going to make my weekly menu planner but too weary.
Cat I've given notice that we will be out of this house (rented) on the 18th. But once the plumber comes to hook up everything (this week he says ) it might be earlier. We are just waiting for the water to the house now, loo, shower etc. I am bringing boxes from the shed back tomorrow and each night will pack. So if you don't see me every day you know I"m having so much funI can't post.
Lucie DD will not keep it like this. It will look like a bomb has gone off. But I'm a neat freakand my house is never untidy. I blame my mother
she instilled in us *don't put it down, put it away*. Somehow it didn't work on DD.
I've been doing flylady since I was a kid.
In spring holidays we had to wash our walls, windows, sills, curtains in our bedrooms etc. Go through our cupboards etc. My brothers & sisters hated it but sad little me loved it.
Well better keep going. Thanks for your kind remarks. Hopefully it won't be long before I can post another completed room. Dining & lounge are nearly there. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Thriftlady We call them Porcupines. I posted a recipe on the recipe board ages ago. It's called Patties in Tomato Soup and I find them nicer than porcupines. HTHDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0

Im thinking of listing cds and books and amazon and look for more inspiration about ebay what kind of things do you put on there?0

Morning everyone. I haven't read earlier than the 3rd page as I've only just got out of bed. I was in bed before midnight last night and only woke about 15 mins ago and slept like a log.
Just watching the long range weather forecast as I think there may be some snow here next week although its probably only over the mountains but you never know (no, weather's just finished and its just wind, rain and maybe some sleet).
My tasks for today are:
Go to the recycle centre
1-2 loads of washing and drying
Make some curried parsnip soup (when I've found the recipe)
Ensure that I've got all the meals planned and ready for next week
Other than that I'm not planning to do much more other than go with DH to take the dogs for a walk - the weather is gorgeous at the mo, blue skies and sunny and quite mild.

Morning All (just)
Its taken me so long to read today as DD wants to look at the Teletubbies site. Cant remember anbodies news so hugs if you need them.
Plan for today is change our bed and get everything ready for the week ahead. DD is off to nursery for the first time tomorrow. I'm so nervous as she has never been left with anybody but family before. Its just for 2 half days at the moment as thats all we can afford but it gives MIL a break. DH is going to look at a car later on that my dad has bought with the intension of fixing it for my step brother girlfriend. It turns out its not appropriate for her so we are going to see if it will be ok for MIL as hers is on its last legs and she needs something reliable. It'll cost about £300 to buy off my dad and fix it but we'll pay as she hasnt taken a penny off us for looking after DD since last April.
Sorry waffley post

Hiya, i sell anything and everything on ebay, at the minute i have sorted out my summer clothes and have listed shorts, tops, swimsuit ect as they seem to sell well after xmas as people are thinking about their holidays now.(wish i was!!lol)
Also i have toys on at the minute, but in the past i have sold, gates, bikes, curtains, jewellery, make up anything.
i Try to make sure my listings end at a weekend and in the evening as more people tend to be on ebay at night.
Well dinner is prepared and white loaf in BM, Last load of washing in and uniforms are ready for tommorow.
Ds1 and dh just arrived back from footy, he lost 3-1 but he is happy with how he played.
Just waiting for ds2 and ds3 to come home from their friends house where they have stayed the night.
Im thinking of making some soup, i have loads of onions and a soup pulse lentail type mix thing, anyone got a soup recipe i can make from onions stock and basics?? Have a few spuds in too, plus well stocked spice rack and store cupboard.
Thanks
donna
