Morning all, and a special  to all the new posters
Had a good "under the spare beds" clear out on Friday afternoon, and managed to find 6 items to list on Freecycle, which I've just spent the last half-hour doing with a :coffee:
OH has gone to work, so I'm planning to have a good clear up this morning, do a spot of ironing & pop into town, cos it's free parking on Sundays! I'm hoping Debenhams have reduced their sale stuff a bit more & I can get a few new bits for work. I've had my eye on a pair of john rocha tweedy/check trousers, but they only had a tenner off last week.
Chicken fajitas for dinner tonight, with no guacomole, 0% greek yoghurt instead of sour cream & lots of salad. Still not touched the 2kg tin of heroes since NYD. OH & I were scrutinising labels in the supermarket yesterday (a first!) and were stunned at some of it, especially the breakfast cereals.
Time to crack on, have a lovely Sunday everyone, hugs to those feeling under the weather or with poorly children.
Edit: Aussielass, we cross posted. Kitchen looks fab, if only they stayed that clean & tidy for ever eh?0 -
Good morning everyone,
Welcome to all the newbies - i hope you will all love being here!!!!
Well, today is our lazy day - will prob spend the day in our pjs before baths (and relaxing) tonight. Dinner is going to be roast duck, which is already done as its what i froze last week in gravy. I also froze some roasties, so only have the yorkies and veg to do.
Do need to sort out my bedroom today (from flylady challenge on friday) and hoover upstairs, but everywhere is clean, my room just has all the 'sorting out' stuff in it. Im hoping some of the clothes that i sorted yesterday will be good enough to go on ebay, so hopefully i will get that done today as well. The WM with my bedding is already on, so later the house will look like a chinese laundry when i have to drape half of it over the bannisters and doors to get it dry - its not raining out, but it doesnt look good!!!!
Right, first cuppa finished, think i might go and make a nice hot chocolate (Sunday treat!!!)
Have a lovely day everyone,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Edited - Aussie, your kitchen looks lovely!!! You are doing so well with the new house, you must be moving in soon???0 -
Hi Yall, bright and sunny here (at the mo) in the emids!
LOL @ gingin - no matter how often I clean my specs they always look like I've kept them between two slices of streaky bacon! and if they are no smeared, at this time of year they are fogged! so most of life passes me by:rotfl:
We were supposed to be having guests for lunch today but they have just called to say they have all gone down with a throaty virus thingy so won't be coming, so we will have to struggle on and eat all this food I've prepared ourselves. LOL I'm sure there will be some peeps at church who will manfully volunteer to turn up and help us out. LOL
Church this morning, it is Covenant Sunday today which is a big deal in Methodism, it is where we stand and reaffirm our vows of commitment to God and to maintaining the witness and life of our local churches. We are having major building work done at church at the mo, so there is no heating running so we will be cold and covered in brick dust as we take communion and make our vows this year:D
Plans for this afternoon are to settle down with a bottle of Hock and do me paid2clicks which i havn't done for ages due to having no internet last week. Hopefully all my balances will have skyrocketed over Christmas:rolleyes:
Church again tonight and then back to the grind tomorrow. I may settle down to give that 'lillies' thing a go on the telly if it is on tonight (can't remember) If it is anything like 'House of Elliot' which Mrs MATH and I termed 'House of Idiot' we shall like it.
Anyway, the washer has just beeped to say it need conditioner adding. Can I say the 'C' word on OS?I know you lot all love ya vinegar! I do to...on chips:rolleyes: Alpine Glade here I come...
Have a good day oldies, newbies and lurkers

Morning all, :hello:
Welcome to Paulies Girl, redspot, prophecy grrl and donnajt. Its great to see new people joining in. Before long you will feel as though something is wrong if you can't get to post here.
grannybroon Would love to see China. It's on my very, very long list of places I want to visit. Maybe once I get myself debt-free, I can think about prioritising the list.
Well, I didn't get any of the jobs done that I had planned yesterday BUT I did manage to change the beds and wash and dry the "dirty" bedsets. Also cleared out DD's bedroom as Hazel the Hamster is coming to stay tonight for the week. She got the hamster for Christmas on the proviso that it would stay with XDH but she is soooo in love with it that I am trying to just grin and bear it and let her have it here too for the first couple of weeks anyway. I don't think the little thing would enjoy all the travelling to and from so it will only be for the next week or two.
I also cleaned the floors in every room in the house - with the exception of DS's bedroom as I can't SEE the floor. so his job this week, if he wants any pocket money - will be to tidy up the pit that is his room. I feel as though I am getting on top of things now and feel much better about it. I now need to be just as good with my money. I really need to sit down and start making some real plans as far as my money goes. I have started filling my terramundi though so I'm hoping if I leave it in a prominent place it will stop me from going out and spending needlessly.
Well, I'm off to have my breakfast then a shower then I'm off out to return some library books. After that, I'm playing it by ear and doing exactly what I feel like doing. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone. x
Edited to say: Aussie your kitchen is stunning."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

MATH - confession time here too. I also use fabric conditioner!!! Only during the winter when i have to dry everything inside (excuses, excuses) i dont bother when i can dry it outside (hopes to save being flogged by microfibre cloths now!!!)0

Morning everyone :hello:
Welcome to the newbies - you make me feel like I've been here ages lol
Aussielass your kitchen is fantastic! I'm really jealous; my new house is wonderful, but the kitchen is an outdated galley thing with minimal storage and I hate it
I was hoping to do some more washing but it is raining quite hard, so I might have to give it a missThe girls have enough for school tomorrow, so it won't be a problem. DH got back safely from his epic drive, but it was after 9when he arrived, so my Dad decided it was too much like hard work to cook and carted me and the DDs off to the local gastropub which was wonderful (and he drove so I could have a large glass or 2 of wine).
Hoping to follow the football today (Manchester City fan) and get the kids to do some music practice, otherwise a bit of slobbing out. Have a lovely day everyone!0 -
Morning all - Welcome to all the newbies :j
It's our 5th Wedding Anniversary today, DD's have made some lovely cards and DD1 spent her christmas voucher buying me a pressie yesterday - was a very proud mummy moment....bless her. She didn't have enough to buy DH anything so she painstakingly wrote him out by hand, a calender for the year with all the birthdays and special occasions noted down.
Still feeling awful with this flu, just vegged out in bed and on the sofa all day yesterday. Dh did a bit of housework but he's not feeling great either so it can all wait for another day.
I was looking at the thread for the cook books on book people yesterday and got as far as filling my basket before I thought - No, I don't need them - and I logged out - Quite an achievment for me but I do have tons of cookery books that I never actually open - I'm more of a "chuck it in a pot and see how it turns out" sort of cook.
We'll all be having another jammies day today and I'll get DH to strip the beds when he gets up.
Have a good day all."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Good Morning All - hope we are well
Big welcome back to pauliesgirl, and a new welcome greeting redspot24, prophecygirl and donnajt. Enjoy your stay
I was in bed quite early last night, well - after watching BIG BROTHER anyway, OH stayed up, heard him coming to bed around 4am. He was most likely looking for cars on ebay again, or playing on the PS2. He slept in DS bedroom, so not to disturb me. He's still asleep, which soon he wont be as I have to clean the bathroom out and crack on with other chores.
I ve still got loads to list on ebay, I might get mt 2 trouser suits on, and call time on it for now.
Mum is due to pop in this afternoon, to look at my ring.
Dinner for today is homemade curry chicken in pitta bread. Mayonnaise mixed with a small amount of curry & chilli powder, onions and pineapple. Layed out on a bed of lettuce. Yummy.
I managed to make a few more cards last night. Mainly for birthday's for this month. I desperately need some inspiration.
Anyway, best be off and make a start on the chores.
Take care & love as usual
Have a lovely day all

Morning all
Aussielass your kitchen looks amazing and I am green with envy!
Welcome to all the new people
Huggles to all the pregnant and sleep deprived ones.
I'm up late, not saying why though!I'm all behind like the cows tail now, the good news is that DH has found someone to come in and feed the cats and guinea pigs while we are away so I can definitely book that holiday now.
I was going to ask my best friend and neighbour to do it for me but she shocked me sideways with the news that she is 6 weeks pregnant! I was so happy for her I cried as they have been trying for 2 years. I am the only person she has told apart from her DH and I am keeping everything crossed that it all goes well for them.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Morning all, welcome to new folks:hello:
Can't wait till tomorrow when OH and all 3 kids are back at school/work :j :j
It's been a long holiday, especially as OH hasn't been to work since Dec 12th because of his broken collarbone. It's nice having him around but I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet
I can't say I'm looking forward to getting up early tomorrow though. Have been really sleeping in this holiday - too many nightcaps I think
Plans for today
Make some bread (wholemeal, because the white bread gets eaten in 5 mins  )
Make some soup for lunch
Make 'spiky meatballs' for tea. A recipe my mil used to make when OH was a lad, he keeps going on about it. I've got the recipe from sil who also makes it for her lot. It's basically meatballs with rice in them cooked in tomato soup. I'll post the recipe if it's any good;)0
