    Nicky and Zippy, hugs!

Would you go for a smear test on ovulation day? Just realized that I might be ovulating on Sat. I know that no sex for 24 hrs beforehand. Doctor said last week that ideally it should be done between day 14 and day 16, I think it will be day 16 for me? Now in doubts so not sure whether to cancel or not.

OH is quite good at performing on demand however I do have a large box of treats :) which I let him shop online and add to. During the important period I just go through the box which helps make it feel like it isn't a chore.

If he is really unresponsive I put a DVD on and it soon works, helps distract from the pressure too. Sorry if TMI. :o

Big ((hugs)) to you and Nikki

    Now I'm curious. What's in that box:D???

Awwww! I am feeling the love in the room.

So sorry so many of you are feeling low. Hope you can all relax for Christmas, and focus on a happy new year full of babies for all of us.

We are well, went to Hyde Park today for the Winter Wonderland. DS is too young to really make the most of it, but I like to start as we mean to go on, and make it a yearly tradition we do at Christmas. Bought two gorgeous Christmas decorations, and I bartered, channelling Martin :money:, and got them for a price I was delighted with. Now home, getting warm, feet up, phew.

    Hello all my lovely ladies.

I have some questions about vitamins / supplements - I know that we can't give medical advice and I will of course double check with a doctor before I start taking anything but general info would be great - I was thinking I might not be able to actually try at the moment but I can still get my body geared up for when we're ready again....

I'm trying to remember all the different things I've read you can take and what they're for.
    • 400mcg folic acid
    • Vitamin B complex - can't remember what this is for (seem to think it's PCOS related)
    • Agnus Castus - helps to regulate cycles
    • Soy isoflavones - natures clomid - anyone know the recommended dosage?
    • Royal jelly - can't remember what it's for.
    Anything else I've missed?

Not vitamins or herbs but I remember seeing people talking about grapefruit juice and cough mixture. Can you remind me what these do and how much to take?

EDIT: sorry, now that I've read back I can see the cough mixture is discussed just a few posts up. Doh!

See this is why I don't like "I'm leaving" posts. I don't think its fair to make people feel bad about posting their own experiences on a support thread, just because you haven't shared those experiences. And threads ebb and flow depending on who is posting at the time, and the character changes from day to day depending on how the regulars are feeling and where people are in their cycles.

I have no idea why whattodonow is leaving the thread, and she obviously doesn't want to upset anyone by making this explicit, so I think its best for everyone not to speculate, and make each other feel bad.

The fact is though that there are a number of groups of people with similar issues who are posting on this thread at the moment, and personally I think we all have something to offer to each other. We have quite a large group sadly of us who are trying to conceive again after a fairly recent loss, we also, sadly, have a smaller group of regulars who know they have either male or female fertility issues which will make things harder, or ladies who have been trying for a long time, we have some ladies with other health issues which impacts and we have some brand newbies who are just getting to grips with temperatures and OPKS and are probably scared silly by the talk of loss or reduced fertility but also hopefully can find something to learn here.

I just think noone needs to feel ashamed or sorry for anything that they want to post on this thread, and that if for some reason it isnt what some people want to read when they are ttc, then they are at liberty to find a thread elsewhere (maybe on another forum completely) which is more in tune at that time with what they want to read. That being said, I hope this thread isn't offputting to the vast majority of those who read and post on it, and that there are more helpful than non helpful ones.

I agree. I used to post on another forum (about completely different topics) and whenever someone used to leave theyd write a huge page about how they were leaving and how annoyed they were. And other people would would be like 'why are you telling us? If you want to leave - then leave - dont post about it!' It was just asking for replies/sympathy (not saying whattodonow is doing this though).

Anyway... I personally love the fact that this thread is not like some of the other ones Ive come across where people who are ttc, just seem... kinda crazy? :rotfl:And if that includes the fact that its not always working well for everyone on here then thats the way it is.

I was on FF forum a couple of weeks ago before my vip membership ran out, and some of the people on there are more than obssessed. And then it made me laugh because I read one post where some ladies were discussing how they avoid the 'waiting to test' forum on there because it drives them mad how everyone SS so bad. One lady said the next time she saw someone post about another 'twinge', she wanted to tell them they probably just needed to fart! :rotfl:

I went there on Saturday was lovely and sunny so a great day for it. I went on the big slide there was quite fun! My niece and SIL came with us, shes only 2 but loved the slide. The man asked my SIL how old she was, and so she said 3 as we were worried they might not let a 2 year old on. Then as we walked past she said 'Im not 3 mummy, Im 2!' :)
