My grandma was 90 in October and we got her a warm scarf and hat as she likes going outside for little walks. She loved them. My mum made her a photo album with family tree, it was really sweet started with her grandma back in the beginning of 1800. She can hardly see it but shows it off proudly to visitors.

My Gran is 94 next month and I've got her a giant bottle of Baileys, my gawd does that woman love Baileys. She recons she only has a 'bit' in her coffee once a day but we all get her is for xmas and she has usually gone through 6 bottles by the time her birthday comes round on the 6th.
When she was at the wedding she had spent weeks before telling my uncle that he would be taking her home after the buffet. So at about 3pm I plonked a giant baileys down infront of her, she turns around to my uncle and declares 'oooo 'uncle' I think I will stay now all day I am having a fine time' then spent the afternoon drinking and got tipsy for the first time in about 40 years. And the first one lasted 10seconds, she was even chatting the bar man up.

Sorry seemed to have rambled on. No snow here!!! I want snow! It does worry me as OH is a delivery driver and has to drive in it. He had to go to Scotland yesterday and drive through a blizzard. Said he couldn't see if he was even driving on the road or not.

Think I'm coming down with a blumming cold, just my luck.

I got out of bed too late today to see any snow, we are not far from Clapham. I love snow, and hope we get lots!

Welcome, minted.nare you hoping to be rich by 30, or covered in After Eights? :rotfl:

We're a vegan family. We do cloth nappies/wipes, dabble with ECing, use toiletries without parabens/SLS etc, co-sleep, baby-wear, BF, BLW, eco-ball laundry, and we plan to home educate (ideally not at home too much - we want to travel the globe).:starmod:

Maybe I'll start if we're not pg this cycle, though I've quite liked not having to be too scientific. We swi regularly over the fertile days though, so would I really benefit from a kit?

Maybe not especially if you have regular cycles and know when you ov.

I think a lot of people on here who use them either are unsure of their cycles or have irregular cycles.

I use them as I'm not 100% sure of my cycle. I've been off the pill since the end of march and since then have had two mc's so I haven't had very many "regular" cycles so I like to use them to make sure we are BDing at the right time.

Evening ladies, (where did our gents go?)

I hope you got Lincolns name sorted and that you and OH are okay, I would imagine that a mistake like that would be very upsetting x

    Welcome mintedby30, hello

I buy my gran alcohol for Christmas and she is 100 :D

mrhappy has been back at GP, 2nd SA was twice the volume, but still no swimmers, he has to do another in February as it may still be due to his illness earlier this year, but to be honest I'm not getting my hopes up about it-that is 2 samples that have had zero swimmers :( I think it's time to take a step back from TTC for us :( as it seems unlikely that we will be able to do it ourselves and I'm not sure what help we can/will get. I don't think it has really sunk in yet and I'm more worried about how he is than how I am at the moment.

Not much else to say apart from good luck to you all, you are really some of the most amazingly strong and inspirational ladies I have come across and you have been a fantastic support to me, thank you all so much :):):)

PS-I will continue to lurk-it took me months to stop lurking on confetti after the we got married :D

Thanks for the suggestions bigzippy, kavics and everyone else who replied to my pleas for help with present ideas. I've still not got my Nana anything yet (will ask my Mum if she has had any more ideas over the weekend), but I managed to find my sister this. I thought that if she doesn't like it, I'll have it! If anyone is into crafty things, or is buying for anyone who is, Hobbycraft where I live has a 3for2 promotion on at the moment on lots of other crafty things from the same company (homemade soaps, other candle kits, cards, bathbombs, quilling sets etc).

Mrshappy don't go - I'm sure that the doctor will be able to prescribe something to increase mrhappy's count. Our friends who just had a baby had the same problem, and after he was prescribed something it increased dramatically. Don't give up hope yet!

Welcome to the thread minted. I hope you get your BFP soon.

ETA: Moon bought 3 bottles of crabbies black (3for£5 in Mr T) and a bottle of the Aldi version of Baileys today (£5.99), so if AF does turn up, I shall be having irish cream in my coffee and ginger beer when I've woken up a bit more. ;)

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
