What sort of things do you like? Hobbies etc?
Ooh you could get him a nice keyring engraved?
I'm a crafter, all things crafty - the cheaper to do and the more useful the end result, the better. But I've got all the paints/easel/canvases/papers/rug making supplies/cross stitching/sewing machine/jewellery making stuff I need atmI tend to either get too ill/sore, or distracted by other things like mil's stroke, to finish projects though, so there's always something only half done! At the moment there's a cross stitch tapestry I was doing for Mil for her birthday 3 years ago, and a rag rug for my nephew for christmas/bday (early jan), half done, and dh wanted some (waxed cord) bracelet things making for him too

Sound like me, I have 2 cross stitch patterns on the go and a rug making book which will be going to the charity shop when dh isn't lookingI get involved in things too quickly (its how i ended up with a bee hive
)
could you not ask for a course or something, like a cake decorating course in the evening (depending on health) It wouldn't be for a long length of time and you could always miss a couple if not feeling up to it.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

Saw this and think it may be a winner. Do you or anyone know where I can get pictures printed to the correct size?Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

Oooh no, I don't like new situations/peoplejust thinking about it gives me the willies
people don't believe me when they meet me in real life (i can be pretty direct when I need to be, especially if I'm fighting for someone else (like mil)) but I have some definite social phobias
I used to love baking, but it's to exhausting/painful now. I quite fancy a food mixer though, see if that would help - but they're pretty expensive, hard to store , and dh would probably consider it to be too "housey" cos he'd use it too (he likes baking now too
)
I like the rag rug making cos it's simple and easy and cheap, and I was having a fabrics (old clothes etc) clear out anyway, so it worked out well - esp as sis then said her kids would love one each as presents (if I ever finish them!!) :money:"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -

I'd imagine that a passport pic sized print would be your best bet, which you could do at any photo printers/supermarket with a print machine, then you could cut it to fit? Maybe if it's a digital photo you have, you could play around with the sizes on a computer first to make it fit? I'm sure some helpful jessops/equivalent assistant would help you with that, no problem"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Did you see the Kirsty Allsopp programmes on 4 where she tries out lots of crafts? On one she made a rug and it looked so simple. The clothes which don't sell on ebay are being turned into one. It won't be pretty but it will be useful.
I'm generally quite social however you wouldn't believe it with me not leaving the house (apart from Sainsburys) for seven weeks and panicking (sp?) about going into central London next week to see work.
How about a magimix, incredibly expensive but they are meant to be fabulous.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

Magimix? How expensive are we talking? I reckon between my mum and dh they'll be about £100, give or take, but don't know as I'd want that much spending on one tbh (i get guilt even when it's someone else money)
I can relate to the panic. You'll be ok though, I'm sure, but stay strong and be nice to yourself
(Think I'm gonna fall asleep soon btw, if so, sleep well when you go)"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
I'd love to see a pic. Magimix is a brand (i think) I don't have one but a quick google and its looks like over £100 although I am sure with a more thorough search they can be found cheaper. I have no storage here so eveything is done the old fashioned way (not even enough room for a freezer
)
Sleep well, I have just finished some camomile tea so may contemplate bed too. Have to be up early for DH first day back (pack lunch is ready and tea bag is in cup so can do it in my sleep if need be:) )Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

KittenPie - the keying looks like a really nice gift but I wouldn't know about how to get Photos small enough.
BZ - I was against a kindle as i am a real book person and love turning the pages but I got one as a wedding present earlier this year and I love it. It is light in weight compared to most books so easier for me to take and read on my commute to work and it doesn't hurt your eyes like a phone or computer screen. They often have offers on certain books and I buy a few then and they last me a while.0 -
Kitten I think the key ring is a lovely idea for a present.emsbet, I love your reindeer and your tree:xmastree:
And you have one of those electric pianos? Does anyone play?
Thanks. Yes DH plays, I love listening to him
Zippy I'm with kitten, I much prefer a real book. My iPad has an iBook app on it and I've downloaded a few free books but i haven't read the, because it isn't the same as a real book and I don't think I can read from a screen for that long
Yay :j I got a wave from mr zippy
Re: mince pies, I have a great recipe that uses a biscuity shortbread thingy instead of shortcrust pastry. It's very yummy and always goes down well
AFM nothing to report, 11DPO and just a stuffy nose that DH has given to me
