Huzzah! What's the process from now then?
I don't know. It's a different clinic, so they'll have to see me and decide.
I'm hoping for a short protocol (the one I did last time), whereby I take meds from around CD2-12, egg retrieval on CD14,
egg transfer back into me on CD17.

Short protocol is usually offered to older women (me:p) and people who may not respond too well to medication. I responded well (19 eggs) so I think it works for me:p

I'm sure AF is just a bit late this month but if she doesn't show by Saturday I'm going to have to test to confirm
    Good luck!:j:j:j
    How light was your AF?

    Hi Emsbet,

I do have a couple of the Superdrug tests at home. I was holding off doing one because it's more likely that I'm not pg and I didn't want to test for it to be negative. I suppose it may be worth doing one just to confirm that I'm not, rather than because I think I might be if that makes sense?

It's so strange, the tricks your mind plays on you when you are ttc isn't it? The daft thing is we'd decided to relax about things until after Christmas and I wasn't at all bothered about not conceiving this month but as soon as I started to think there might be chance I was pg after all........... I think I'm just going a bit mad now!

I get where you are coming from and you can drive yourself mad if you think about it all too much.

I personally would want to know as for me the not knowing is worse as I get my hope up more and more each day IYSWIM. I was also thinking if you were going to be upset if it was a BFN then at least you'd have a couple of days to get over that before going out on saturday. But it's totally up to you, if you'd rather wait it out then that's what you should do :)

    xx

    Good morning:wave:

    Claire, are have you tested?

Nope CD1 for me as expected after yesterdays spotting, just glad it held off til today. I dont think I had high hopes this month after ovulating so late anyway as I keep reading bad stuff about late ovulation. So im just hoping I have a shorter cycle this month.

One good thing is at least this month would mean a September baby, so we're past the whole summer baby thing now too!

I know, TTC can drive you crazy:o
It's up to you, if you prefer AF to BFN, then I'd wait until Saturday, but if you think you'll build up too much hope, then I'd test now:o

Good luck with the IVF QQ. I wouldn't necessarily assume you are in for the long haul and will be having multiple attempts, unless you want a huge family that is. With all the various issues you have to contend with, including having a once a week man, it sounds like it has the highest chance of success for you. Will you be doing ICSI, or having that as a possibility when the sample is collected at least? I know on ttc+ some of the girls have had multiple unsuccessful attempts but IRL I know a few people who succeeded first time. You responded well to the drugs too which is one of the biggest hurdles, and where I personally fell down, so you could well be successful this time round with some frozen sibs too :)

AFM - can I add my OH to the string em high club please. As I think I have banged on for long enough, he was planning a trip to India next week which might coincide with ovulation, and so I had planned a detailed (and hugely expensive) contingency plan to give us the best chance of catching the egg, and checked with him in advance he was free, and told him not to make any plans for Sunday afternoon or evening as I was booking something very nice for him. He has just phoned me to say that he has postponed his trip to India for a week, but that he has instead booked a flight to Athens on Sunday evening. I am really really cross! I know on the one hand that he is likely to be around when he is needed to do the deed, as he goes Sunday night, back Monday afternoon, but I had spent an absolute fortune on a babysitter, hotel room and spa treatments for Sunday to completely pamper him and give us an opportunity to BD without kids to think about, which it is too late to cancel completely, and he is likely to have to shoot off for the airport after a few hours. Bah!

QQ my last AF was basically a day of spotting, followed by one day of what I would call full flow (although not heavy flow) and then another day of spotting. At the time I was a bit concerned because it seemed so light and I know that can mean difficulties with ttc. But now I'm thinking maybe it wasn't even a proper AF???

Anyway, I think I will take the advice of you ladies on here and do a quick test when I get in tonight. DH won't be home when I get there so whatever the result, I will be able to compose myself before he gets in. If it's a BFN I will be disappointed but not surprised. At least I'll know either way.

Twigglet I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

And good luck with your IVF QQ.

I do really appreciate you all taking the time to read and respond to my posts and hope all of you get your BFP's soon.
