So - if OPK shows a line, then that means you should BD the day after? I had assumed it was that day... well I suppose I will find out in a week or so.
When OPK shows a line that is same or darker than the control line, then you should BD on that night and ideally for the 3 consecutive nights:p

One should ov 12-36hrs after the first +OPK, and the egg is fertilisable for 24hrs after ov:cool:
QQ - bless you for being interested in everyone! You are very sweet.
Thanks, I've been here for a very long time:p
The training is for a 10k run which I want to do next year,
    Wow amazing! Good luck!:j
this pain feels more like injury than muscle pain. However, after a long bath and a lot of nurofen gel it seems much better today.
    (((Hugs))).
Of course, what I really want is to be unable to do a 10k run for other reasons! But, I'm enjoying being fit after going down 3 sizes recently and want to maintain it. I'm still pretty overweight, but getting better. :)
    Losing 3 sizes! Congratulations!:T:T:T

I suppose the wrong answer isn't much of a disaster, one could always try BDing, people have got pregnant by BDing for years:p
We've only had one well timed BD since IVF back in May...

Well said - although you wouldn't know it based on all the effort we are putting in outside of BDing!

OH said last night 'I didn't know you had a cough'. Right - he was there when I bought the cough medicine & when we took it out of the bag at home. He said the same thing then & I said 'apparently it helps with getting pg - although sx helps too!' Listen!!!!

    Bless em.

Did OPK last night - CD8. Negative - as expected. High on CBFM.

We bd'd last night - we haven't done it for a couple of weeks. Have told him that it's every other day for the next week (if possible).

Same with DH, now I don't take them in front of him:o

    Yay!:j

  • Will someone explain SMEP to me please? I'm confused and taking my temperature appears to be stressing me out because of my poor sleep patterns...

I've never done it but copy and pasted:

    1. Buy 10 OPK tests PRIOR to cycle day 10
    2. Starting on cycle day 10, do one OPK test EVERY DAY
    3. Babydance (BD) EVERY OTHER DAY starting on cycle day 10 (hips elevated for 10-30 minutes after each BD session)
    4. When you get a +OPK, babydance that day and the next 2 days in a row (so 3 days in a row total)
    5. Skip one night and babydance once more the next day
    6. Take a home pregnancy test (HPT) 15 days after the day you ovulated (or most of you will start taking your HPTs at 10-12dpo!)"

yay to all the ovulation activity going on :)
Itching to test! woke up feeling really sick, before my head left the pillow i felt sick BUT at the same time had cramps which makes me think i'm out. but i've had a lot of cramps for a couple of days, and never get cramps before AF.
so totally conflicted. will just have to see what tomorrow brings as i'm due on then, and the day after, and then on Saturday i can test if AF hasn't shown her ugly face. just concerned it might be delayed with my being sick, so delaying testing.
i sound like a nutjob, too much pressure on myself! Need to relax and realise that i've all the time in the world yet and every month that we don't conceive makes our financial situation that bit better (saving for house etc). This is our first proper month of trying anyway and the PCOS means we probably are in it for the long haul, no matter how great DH thinks his sperm is! lol x x

I followed SMEP(ish) and just did it using opk's as I didn't temp. Assuming a 28 day cycle you start bding every other day from CD10 (earlier if your cycle is shorter and later if longer) until you get a positive opk, you then bd the day of positive and the next two days afterwards, miss a day then do another "insurance" bd the day after that. The basic idea is that you're covering yourself with lots of bding around the time you're expecting to ov. We tried it the cycle I got my BFP, did the bding every other day but then only 2 days in a row after pos opk and missed the insurance one too (too knackered :o) but seems it was enough :). Think it's supposed to boost the average couple's chances of conceiving in any given cycle from about 30% to 40%. Good luck :)

I've just read the acronyms part of the first post so i have an idea on what everyone is talking about now!

We're NTNP by the way so we're not tracking all of the other stuff everyone is doing here. At the moment theres not even chance of a BD because we fell out last night! looks like i might get to quietly read my book after all :T:rotfl:
