I've never done it but copy and pasted:

    1. Buy 10 OPK tests PRIOR to cycle day 10
    2. Starting on cycle day 10, do one OPK test EVERY DAY
    3. Babydance (BD) EVERY OTHER DAY starting on cycle day 10 (hips elevated for 10-30 minutes after each BD session)
    4. When you get a +OPK, babydance that day and the next 2 days in a row (so 3 days in a row total)
    5. Skip one night and babydance once more the next day
    6. Take a home pregnancy test (HPT) 15 days after the day you ovulated (or most of you will start taking your HPTs at 10-12dpo!)"

    :)

Thanks QQ - I didn't want to google it on my work computer :o

It doesn't seem like much other than we're doing anyway - we BD pretty much every day or at the least every other day anyway. In fact, in my last cycle I think the only time we didn't for two days was when I ovulated - 3 days later than expected, so I think we missed it accidentally!

I have some OPKs I got free with my BBT and I am going to start doing them from CD10 even though my cycle last month was 30 days - before the mc I was on an exact 27 day cycle, and I'm hoping that my body is slowly getting back to normal like that.

Mrsj28, I had a miscarriage in September, so this is our third cycle post mc, but I know that people who haven't had one use it too - I think RebekahR used it for one month and she got her BFP recently :)

I dreamed about taking my temperature last night. I think I'm getting a bit obsessed!

I find my sleep patterns much worse after ov. I want to sleep alllll the time when AF's around, and sleep is much better between AF and ov. Weird isn't it? Glad you manage to get back on your feet, so to speak. I manage much better now than I was doing, but coming off the medication in order to TTC has been a pain (literally and figuratively), but I'm still unable to work and I have to take it slow and pace (beginning to hate that word!) myself. I have a wheelchair for the worst days, when I want to go somewhere with DH but don't have the energy, and/or have dislocated something :o

It all makes me worry that people will judge my desire for a baby tbh, like they look at me and think "you can't look after yourself, so what are you doing trying for a baby", sort of thing :o

It really frustrates me how every medical appointment I go to, they ask for your profession... I say incapacitated/disabled (but I don't "look" ill, apparently) - this latest doctor tried 3 times to put down "home maker" or "house wife" or something instead! I wish I WAS a house wife! I might be more use to DH then!

Anyway, sorry for the rant, I got a bit carried away there :o

Hehe, I know where you're coming from. I feel so lucky that I started to feel better after about 18 months, and I didn't really get to the wheelchair stage - although I didn't actually leave the house, so that might be why. If I was driven to a shop or something I used to have panic attacks because I was worried my energy levels wouldn't last.

The thing is, only you know how you can cope, and what your triggers are; you know what your boundaries are like - and presumably you know when you're not coping and need extra help.

My sleep patterns are the other way, I sleep better before ovulation and then straight after I get fidgety all night and then tired all day.

Bigz and sa-ra-ra congrats on coping (and thriving!) With all life throws at you.

Thanks, I'm *touch wood* OK at the moment :)

Sounds like you had a good timed one earlier this month though . One well timed bd is bound to be better than 3 badly timed ones ;)
I was told by a fertility doctor, that one well timed BD may lead to mc, as there's old bad spermies in there:o

Better release old ones a day or 2 before ov BD:cool:

Just checking whether she has PMS or not:p

Same here... I'd really like to try SMEP, once I start a proper cycle (hopefully next month) but I'm not sure I'll be able to convince DH to manage two nights in a row!
Good luck:o It works fine for non MCers too:)

    I'm deliberately NOT googling it!
    Good idea:cool:
I think she said they want to do it on CD10 too, and I'm assuming that's so the cervix is a little more receptive...but mine isn't at that stage, with my longer cycles... so that worries me more about it being "uncomfortable".
    I see what you mean:think:
They usually like to do it straight after AF, they don't like it if you are spotting. Also, it needs to be as far away from ov as possible as radiation is not good for the eggy.
I'm quietly really hoping I get a miraculous BFP before I have to go through with it! (I know I'm a wimp btw :o)
Me too!:j Go go Bigzee jr!
DH said last night "if we can't have a baby, we *will* adopt, won't we?" Then got too upset to continue talking about it
(((Hugs))). I'd go through IVFs before adoption:cool:

No SSing:naughty: One can only SS after implantation at the earliest, but ideally after BFP:D

  • Hello everyone! I think I'm going to try and do a new thread about costs of baby and hope people won't be too mean!

We are trying SMEP for this, our 2nd month off the pill ttc. I accidentally started on day 8 so on day 13 have been frustrating with -ve OPK's. Last cycle I ovulated around day 14 so was little concerned i didnt get a +ve earlier. am now trying to not drink and do it again about 4, if I can hold it in! It sounds like a good booster plan and fingers crossed it works...

everyone seems a bit more positive today which i like. so here's to hopeful SBDTA :) I will link post when done hopefully so those of you with baba's can help me work things out :D x

Moon is also off today, so we're going shopping in Southampton today. I think we're going to leave it until mid afternoon, so hopefully the shops won't be quite so crowded (I imagine that the shops will do well today).

Oh boo, I've just realised that I'm CD10 today!

Does this mean I'm not allowed to wee this afternoon? I feel very unprepared for OPKs, usually I have plenty of time to read the instructions first...

(Also, boo that MSE recognises a naughty word written as 'ess aitch one tee' as a swearword. That's very annoying).
