I first read that as WILL achieve and had a mini panic attack :rotfl:0 -
:cool:Hi TTC40
Glad you didn't mind me being very frank! I was a bit nervous about posting. Your weight loss will stand you in good stead. A lot of GPs and Fertility Specialists seem to have a cut off point of 30 for BMI before they will prescribe, but a patient who is actively losing weight and is not far off that would surely stand more chance than one who is well above. And there is some research to say that losing 10% of your starting body weight (if significantly overweight at the outset) is enough to kickstart ovulation so you may already have been doing the right thing to reach your goal.
If it helps, I am even older than you and ttc. I was 43 last week  not sure how that happened to be honest. In my head I am still about 220 -
CD1 here today too. Are we on an all time high today for AF?
((hugs)) to you and vesper for CD1. I think the record or CD1 is about 10/12 ladies on AF at the same time. At least we should be due for a load of Christmas BFPs and you'll all have lots of familiar faces to share you pgs withHello,
I am a regular poster on this forum, but using another name to post here - feeling like this is a private thing! Just looking for a bit of support while TTC. We have been not trying, but not preventing now for about 18 months, and am just starting to try and try seriously as it isn't happening just naturally.
Started testing for ovulation this month, and I'm only on CD11 and I *think* I got a positive result on the OV test. It feels quite early to me, but perhaps that is where I have been going wrong. My cycle has recently become much shorter, from 28-30 days, now down to 24-26 days. Any ideas why? I very briefly went on the pill (for a month) as it would have been a very bad time to get pregnant, and since then the cycle has shortened.
Anyway, hello to everyone!
Welcome  hope your stay is short an sweet
I'd say it's unlikely to be your LP (luteal phase- phase between ov and AF) that's shortened and more likely as your OPKs are suggesting, ov is earlier. LP stays pretty static from cycle to cycle and it's ov that can vary. If you ov earlier then your cycle length can decrease.
Ov can be delayed by many factors such as stress, alcohol, illness etc and I guess the same sort of things can cause ov to occur sooner.
Hope everything went ok today zippy.

Evening guys, well CD2 hasn't been too bad, a bit heavier than yesterday but not painful. My back hurts but I have Ankylosing Spondylitis anyway so it's probably a mix of the two rather than being AF. Only real thing is me feeling fat, I am overweight anyway but I feel worse at the minute so have told OH I am cooking a fuddle tea for the next week to get the fridge/freezer emptied of all the rubbish and then on payday he can take me food shopping and I will stock up on fresh meat and fish and fruit and veg. I've done slimming world before and lost 7 stone but put some back on but hopefully will lose it all again and a bit more.
How is everyone else? Nicki I found that post you did to TTC40 really informative so thank you
Hugs for all and SBDTA xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Nicki, vesper and TTC40 , hugs fo CD1:(
Lets hope for bumper Dec BFP:beer:
zcrat, yipee on the offer on your house!:j
Good luck with FF & temps:)
Aless, are you hoping for Thanksgiving BFP?:j
time2deal, welcome:wave:
I've added you to the first page, let me know if you'd like your age added, and have anything else changed:)
As for shortening of cycles, anything between 21-42 days are normal, so don't worry. Perhaps the pill reset your cycle to a different length? (not that I know anything about cycles):D
ikkle, ((hugs)) on CD2. Hope it clears soon:o0 -
Happy Birthday zippy!
I think you mean... MrsJ?

I...cried.Mainly because they said we'd only see them again in 5 months, which feels like a long time when they first say it... but also because the swabs and internal always hurts, and they always say it shouldn't, but they don't have a condition that means you have hypersensitive nerve endings :o In the meantime we'll both have some tests done.
I did try telling them that the CD21 tests (on 2 diff cycles) would be a waste of time being done on CD21 as it would not show ovulation, but even after her asking "why" and me explaining that my shortest cycle so far has been 39days, so I wouldn't've even ov'd by CD21 nevermind be 7dpo, they didn't listen to me... *sigh* I'm on CD20 I think right now, so I'll trundle over to the hospital tomorrow to let the vampires at me and then at least one of them's done. Otherwise I've no guarantee (with my wonky cycles) I'll manage to get one CD21 test done, nevermind two, before going back to see them in 5months :rotfl:
She took swabs and did an internal today _pale_ (I specifically asked for a female doc this time, I've already seen 2 male gynaes so far and they nearly got me seeing another today!) and I have the CD2-5 bloods to do too, DH has an SA to do, and I think she said there'd be a scan again - though I can't remember if she gave me a form for that, or there'd be a letter coming?:doh: I'm also referred for a... dye & xray thingy? Is that the HSG? (I can remember what it is, but not the ridiculously long name) To check if my tubes are blocked. That's a 12wk waiting list, apparently, and then they seem to think that it takes a further 2 months to look at the results before they can talk to me about them... *roll eyes* ... as that's what she was blaming it being another 5 months on. However, she was also saying that 12weeks was 4 months, which concerned me slightly :rotfl:
I asked about Clomid (and IVF, which has a further 18wk waiting list after the 5month til appt, then 6months on Clomid), and she said they want BMI under 30. I can pretty much tell you that's gonna be impossible within 5 months!especially with all this going on with MIL, we've barely been home, nevermind had proper homecooked food  and then there's Christmas too...
I came out feeling like it was all so impossible, tbh.
Feel a bit better now, after all, my cycles are slowly improving, and it's not like I was planning to give up on the new way of eating that we have now, so in theory this gives us 5 months to do it by ourselves without more fiddling and interference from themThat's what I'm trying to use as my PMA anyway
As for MIL; she's still in the first hospital waiting for a bed in the 2nd hospital, for the procedure she was supposed to have had today.I'm told she's definitely on the list to have the procedure done on Friday, in the 2nd hospital, and that we may as well wait to ask any other questions til we're over there and can ask them, as apparently trying to get information out of her current consultant is like pulling hens teeth - for staff, patients or family... good ol' bedside manner, eh?
Sorry to hear about all the CD1s
Happy birthday to ...Mrsj? I think it was?
And welcome  to the newbie(s) - the names of which have escaped me I'm afraid
