Hello mrsj28  I hope your stay is short and sweet.

((hugs)) Nicki. It's only 9DPO so you're still in with a shot.

((hugs)) mrshappy hopefully it's something that can be easily fixed.

Don't have anything else to add as I'm sulking about my silly body :o;)

(((Hugs))). I wonder what was wrong with it?
    Did he spill any?

It was a very small sample :o he usually produces a lot more, but he wasn't feeling great that morning, and felt a bit under pressure to get it done, so there wasn't very much. Would that have an impact do you think?

    Yes. A massive impact.

They measure: volume (which was way lower than usual)
Morphology (ie percentage of mal formed ones). The smaller the sample the more likely it is that this number is inaccurate
Motility (ie speed at which they swim) ditto

Don't panic until he does the next sample. And in the meantime, can you get hold of GEt PRegnant faster by Marilyn Glenville and put her dietary and vitamin recommendations into practise. They made a huge difference to my OP's count, and should work in about 3 months and definitely cant harm.

Hugs MrsHappy, hope its nothing too out of the ordinary.

    Hugs Emsbet and Nicki too.

Some of you were talking about going on the pill- my ZIta West book says that there is some evidence to suggest that immediately after coming off the pill you are more fertile than usual, not sure if I would gamble a months worth of TTC on it though!

Have decided not to see the GP just yet about irregular cycles, wil wait until we have moved and enjoyed christmas, jsut incase it is bad news and I do have PCOS or something else wrong.

PMA is pretty good today, went to see the house and it is looking a-ma-zing, although not ready to move in for another week yet. And I am off work til the 29th November!

Hope everyone else is OK, SBDTA xx

  • Hi ladies, i'm dipping in and trying to catch up! i'm a little confused myself, i'm on CD40 which is 5 days late with only bfns so far. I'm pretty confused that i'm pregnant this month tho, as i have a lot of symptoms and there's no sign of AF at all. I'm worried that i'm SS-ing tho and am going to be even more upset when AF shows.

Thank you Nicki, that makes me feel a lot better, I'm a bit upset-but I think that is because I don't know what is happening, but I am more worried about how he is feeling-I have a wee while to get myself together before he gets in from work though. PMA is slowly restoring! I'm off to Amazon now to buy a book ;)

BFN on FRER. I am 9dpo but 6 days before AF is due, so the accuracy rate is 62%. Suspect, despite major ss this month, I am out again :(

Im sure FF says tests that were done on 10dpo with people who were pregnant only showed up for 10% of them, so youre definitely not out yet. Chances are the test wont show up positive yet.

I noticed in Sainsburys the other day they had the pregnancy tests in those plastic boxes that I think you have to ask the chemist to unlock. I dont know why, I guess the digi ones are pretty expensive. But no more than say a bottle of wine. Maybe people have been stealing them recently. Its very annoying though and i would now never buy one in there because I always bump into people I know and so Id want to just grab it and get out asap not faff about with blimming boxes!

I found that the home health website sells them for much cheaper anyway.

What I want to know is WHY the pill supposed makes you more fertile. because Ive read it in so many places, but none of them have ever had a reason.

I think you might drive yourself potty if you try to compare your experiences with other people Emsbet.

I am almost 100% sure that your HCG levels have nothing to do with when you stop bleeding. If they did, all post partum women would bleed for roughly equivalent lengths when there is a HUGE variation. It is as normal to bleed for a couple of weeks as it is to bleed for a couple of months after a full term birth.

There is also a hugely different hormonal profile between a missed miscarriage, where the body tries to maintain it's hormonal levels over a prolonged period, and a termination when the levels alter abruptly, and between a first trimester loss and a second trimester one.

Added to which, prolonged bleeding can caused by a number of other issues which are wholly unrelated to pregnancy and miscarriage, or only tangentially related in that one has triggered another condition.

I would recommend that you keep getting medical advice every few weeks if it doesn't stop, but I wouldn't try and compare yourself against another woman's timetable, or rule any medical intervention in or out at this stage. I know when I had prolonged post partum bleeding after DS1 I was given noristherone for a week, not a BCP, and fell pregnant completely accidentally the following month, even though it didn't actually work to stop my bleeding and I was still spotting when I conceived.

After all this time, I would be inclined to ask your doctor though whether you can BD, swim and use tampons again, as if your cervix is closed surely any risk of infection must be remote.
