It was a very small sample :o he usually produces a lot more, but he wasn't feeling great that morning, and felt a bit under pressure to get it done, so there wasn't very much. Would that have an impact do you think?
It depends on what they mean by abnormal.
Hope he can produce a better sample next time, though not easy after hearing this news:o
In the meantime, take care of your DH (((hugs))).

Hi ladies, i'm dipping in and trying to catch up! i'm a little confused myself, i'm on CD40 which is 5 days late with only bfns so far. I'm pretty confused that i'm pregnant this month tho, as i have a lot of symptoms and there's no sign of AF at all. I'm worried that i'm SS-ing tho and am going to be even more upset when AF shows.
Do you know when you might have ov'd?

i think i ov' around the 28th but i never managed to get a proper result on a ov stick (first month using them) so that's not definite. We did BD a lot to try and make sure that we caught it.

What kind of SS are we talking here?
  • QQ - a lot of CM for the last 5-7 days, heartburn, nausea, some cramping on and off and my boobs have been sore on and off as well. I'm starting to convince myself that i'm imagining it!

Hang in there, hope it's the beany:o
  • Thanks, i'm trying to convince myself to be patient! I'll test again if it's still not here in a few more days, thank god for internet cheapies and this thread for telling me about them! :D

I've had an awesome week for my birthday, it started on friday with a big night out, a trip to duxford imperial war museum on sunday, actual birthday tuesday :D, chinese last night with hubby and mum, and all capped off with my new cooker arriving this morning :j my first ever 'proper' cooker with 2 ovens and everything :rotfl:

so I have been made to feel very loved this week, I've also come to realise that just because some people live their lives causing grief to others I am not like that and most certainly dont need to waste my time on them !

back on topic for the thread Im in the 2 week wait knowing we have done all we can :T

Hey, been reading all about your silly body  have you been to the doctors yet ? It seems odd that you were getting negative tests before me yet you are still bleeding :o

Anyway, whatever the cause - big hugs smiley-hug006.gif

    congratulations to the BFP's :T

I went to the doctors about two weeks ago and they told me as HPT was neg and all tests for infection were clear I had to give it two more weeks. TBH it's not as bad as it has been but I'm getting frustrated :o I will book an appointment for Wednesday if it's still hanging around by then.

    :j for the PMA :)

I think you might drive yourself potty if you try to compare your experiences with other people Emsbet.

I am almost 100% sure that your HCG levels have nothing to do with when you stop bleeding. If they did, all post partum women would bleed for roughly equivalent lengths when there is a HUGE variation. It is as normal to bleed for a couple of weeks as it is to bleed for a couple of months after a full term birth.

There is also a hugely different hormonal profile between a missed miscarriage, where the body tries to maintain it's hormonal levels over a prolonged period, and a termination when the levels alter abruptly, and between a first trimester loss and a second trimester one.

Added to which, prolonged bleeding can caused by a number of other issues which are wholly unrelated to pregnancy and miscarriage, or only tangentially related in that one has triggered another condition.

I would recommend that you keep getting medical advice every few weeks if it doesn't stop, but I wouldn't try and compare yourself against another woman's timetable, or rule any medical intervention in or out at this stage. I know when I had prolonged post partum bleeding after DS1 I was given noristherone for a week, not a BCP, and fell pregnant completely accidentally the following month, even though it didn't actually work to stop my bleeding and I was still spotting when I conceived.

After all this time, I would be inclined to ask your doctor though whether you can BD, swim and use tampons again, as if your cervix is closed surely any risk of infection must be remote.

I will try to stop comparing :o It just when the doctor hasn't given you much information it's difficult just to sit twiddling your thumbs waiting for six weeks before they will try and find out what's wrong and how to make it stop.

If I have to go next week and it hasn't stopped I will definitely be demanding they do something to sort it. I do feel like I have had very little information. No one at any point said that the bleeding could last this long. Maybe if I'd have known this it might not have been as bad. Oh well nothing I can do about that now :o
