Trying for a Baby Part 7

I was worried about the August baby thing too Claire as I have a summer birthday, and a lot of my friends were born in September, and I felt really left out when it came to them going out to the pub etc as I could never go. They even went on an 18-30s holiday, and I couldn't cos I was only 17 still. It didn't affect me academically, but I think it can affect boys more than girls (had a lot of male friends who were born in August, and they didn't do so well academically or in terms of emotional maturity). I'm sure it is just a generalisation though, and I look at it that I'd rather have a baby born in August (my dad is an August birthday) than no baby at all!
Glad to hear that your OH is doing well whowantstobrich. We were watching a kid in a candy store the other night, and I kept on thinking how disgusting everything looked too, and normally by this point in my cycle I'd be craving sweets and carbs like mad, so fingers crossed I get my BFP on Thursday.
ETA: QQ I'd like to predict 9 BFPs for November please.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Good morning:wave:
How are you Mrs Dave and Littlezee?
vesper, some of us have CBFM, me included. They are brilliant:j
Just make sure you don't POAS after the 1st Peak, as the machine doesn't read them:money:
Littlezee, have you tested?
sexymouse, I love the big hug mouse, it's so you:p
Tinkwings, I know what you mean, why can't men BD when it's ov just because they don't feel like it, and is devastated when AF comes?
If it's still :)OPK, then I'd give it a go. LH can linger after ov, but you never know:cool:
emsbet, don't go, spill it all here, that's what we are here for (((hugs))).
Rebekah, relax, one can't ov when stressed:o
claire, I was born in August:o My sister was born in Sept, and I have to say I did envy her:o But I had brilliant birthdays while on holidays, like Disneyworld:cool:
whowants2brich, glad your OH is doing well:cool:0 -

OH's birthday is 29th August, and he is the most intelligent person I know. He is a technical engineer and seems to soak up information like a sponge!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
As for yesterday, I didn't report my minor incident with the police, as the door knob just needed a couple of new screws to fix, and there were no damage to my already battered door or the neighbour's wheelie bin.
The other neighbour's car had to be taken away (scrap?). There were 7 or 8 policemen yesterday, so it must've been a slow night:p It's not like anyone was hurt or anything, it's anti social behaviour and vandalism.
I had a note in my door this morning asking to report anything, so may do that later. Not that I witnessed anything. Hope I don't get told off for not reporting it yesterday:(0 -
My Dad is the same euronorris. We were watching eggheads yesterday, and he knew lots more of the answers than I knew. My Dad is very good with anything technical - cars, IT, science. I'm sure it depends on lots of factors - upbringing, the school they go to etc etc.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

I was pretty immature when I started school, always being told off for talking/singing in class:o Problem is when you get that reputation, it is hard to change.
I did settle down when I was about 9, when I heard a new teacher was coming, so I thought it would be a good time to become a different person. Classmates were the same, but I naively thought the new teacher wouldn't know my history:p
From then on I tried my best:cool:0 -
I agree with that QQ. I think if a child isn't very bright to begin with, they will struggle if they are born later in the school year, and therefore start school later.
I don't think OH's upbringing helped him much, as his parents split when he was fairly young, and he, his Mum and brother moved quite a lot in the early years, changing schools etc, which didn't make things very stable for him. Although, having said that, it did make him very protective of his brother and wanted to do as well as possible so that he could make his own life stable in the future.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
True :rotfl:plus hopefuly by the time they've passed their driving test they'll have seen enough friends getting a, ahem "telling off" for bashing the car so will be more careful:D. Saying that it took me AGES to pass (first time but took about a million lessons) so all my friends were driving before I was anyway :rotfl:
True. I passed mine 1st time and so I was driving all my friends around for agggges lol and I did have a few scrapes. I guess one way around it could be to get them off-road lessons when they are 16 so when they do turn 17 they could do their test pretty soon.I was worried about the August baby thing too Claire as I have a summer birthday, and a lot of my friends were born in September, and I felt really left out when it came to them going out to the pub etc as I could never go. Yeah thats the dilemma. If there was no baby at all Id much rather obviously have one born in august, but I do worry about them getting left out of things.claire, I was born in August:o My sister was born in Sept, and I have to say I did envy her:o But I had brilliant birthdays while on holidays, like Disneyworld:cool:
Very good point. Although my parents used to take us out of school before or after the half term sometimes so we went to Disney in October, which was just before my birthday! But yes having a summer birthday does give you a much better chance.0 -

Definitely. Theyre probably the most important factors.0 -
Yep, according to my PGCE course, only about 20% of a child's education takes place in school, the rest is due to other factors such as us as parents, scary!!
Student Mrs, you can count the withdrawal bleeding as CD1 for now:)
Which CD would that make today?
QQ, we're right then, was just confused as I'd stopped the withdrawal bleed last week.
Hubby and I were at family planning clinic this morning, feeling a bit stupid while waiting as we've only just started planning but nurse was a star and explained things like CM to my OH, much better job than I would have doneAs I'm only just off the pill, she made it clear that obv we wouldnt be able to time things really and just to stick with natural family planning and hope that I get some EWCM soon (is that the right acronym?!) I think that AF may be coming to visit soon though as I have a new spot and some slight hunger pangs which is how I used to know she was due.
emsbet, I hope you don't go, in all the ways that Nicki lovingly said and everyone else. There are so many people on here that of course we consider ourselves but that's because it's nice to have a break from looking after everyone else! I definitely want you to stay on here, you have all the wisdom of going through this before and all the kind maternal qualities that I would want to emulate.
And now, off to uni to learn about assessments... would much rather stay on here :undecided
