  • Morning ladies (and gent if you still read the thread, any update for us ? hows it all going ?)

Had another shocking nights sleep so I have zero energy but im buzzing on coffee :D so all good for about 10 minutes !

I find my OH is never in the mood when he knows we really *should* be dtd to make a baby, he confessed the other day he doesnt want me to get pg straight away as he enjoys the extra sex he gets so im fairly sure this is why - sneaky !!!!!! :rotfl:

Tinkwings I would tell him you'd cocked up the days and you arent ovulating for another day or two, then play hard to get and pretend you arent interested - men always want what they cant have ;)

    BigZ,

Thanks :) & get peeing on that stick ;)

and finally, a slap on the hand for emsbet - talk of leaving us again and there will be trouble !!!

Looking at everyones posts has made me realise how lucky I am with my DH. He does make a little exhausted face at me when I told him we are BDing every other day for the next 12 days, but I think secretly he loves it! or, when he really is tired, I have to say hes never not got on with it when Ive told him well Im tired too but its tough :rotfl:.

Hes just been for a weekend away and so came back pawing at me and I said sorry Im off to work - and then he fell asleep on the sofa haha. I guess as I told him to make sure he was awake when I got back!

It is interesting though because a while ago a thread came up about how much s*x people have and some people who were not ttc, were doing it like every day, or twice a day. So its kind of interesting that it seems everyone on this thread, including myself, does it no where near that amount. I think Id fall over with exhaustion!

On another note, Ive always wanted to plan having a baby that came at the start of the school year, or at least not at the end anyway. But getting pregnant in the next 2 months would mean that would happen. But Ive pretty much come to the conclusion that well what if this was the only month, for whatever reason, that I could get pregnant, then theres no way Im putting it off.

It just reminded me of this as I just saw them talking about this on the tv

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2055881/August-babies-likely-leave-school-16-binge-drink-suffer-bullying.html

I know when I was at school I always felt sorry for the kids born in august. Because when we got to 6th form I had passed my driving test before theyd even had their birthday!! And one of my friends always got a bit left out because she couldnt come to the pubs and clubs with us (well she could but had a nightmare of a time getting in, and this was before the days of IDing everyone who looks under 25!).

I think theyve altered the school age now so your child can atleast start with the others who are born before Christmas, which wasnt the case when I was younger. And most people in the top sets at school did also seem to be the ones born earliest.

Also, someone I know had a baby due in October, but it came in August! So I guess theres never a guarantee anyway.

    What does everyone else think?

    Claire,

My eldest was born at the end of september (although he was due at the start ) so he is one of the oldest in his year, he is though perhaps one of the least mature + shortest of the bunch !

I dont think it matters too much, although I can see it would be annoying to be one of the youngest when all the others reach the big milestones first !

I did think the same but now I'd just be grateful to have a baby! My sister is a summer baby and she had a bit of a hard time at school and my mum's adamant it's because she wasn't mature enough to start school when she did but who really knows. Plenty of August babies do just fine (the brightest girl in my year at school was born on the 31st August) and like you say there are no guarantees when the baby will decide to put in an appearance! I wouldn't take too much notice of anything written the Daily Mail either ;)

I'm an autumn baby and was always jealous my sister got to have bbqs and picnics for her birthday when my parties were always in a draughty old church hall so it's swings and roundabouts :D

Goes to show nature has it's own way and it's not up to us to plan :D
  • Hi, and yes, the gent is still here...

There's not much news on our front, still showing symptoms which is good - of both a cold and the usual things following the BFP... My OH can't stop sleeping, and eating sweet chilli crisps. Scary thought for some of you: she's gone off sweet things, and can't stand cereal or chocolate. So go figure! (mind you, that's how I knew that she was going to get the BFP even before we tested, she loves her sweet stuff, and literally woke up one morning and had totally gone off it!!)

As for the stories on here, it always makes me smile to see what you lot think - especially a padded cell for those on AF-duty. I think I've nearly locked myself in a padded cell when my OH had her AF, but fortunately, I will hopefully get a few months of freedom from all that...

And the thing that I have read and thought of the most... is how many people on here have had a MC in the past 12 months, a surprisingly large number of people. And everyone comes back to TTC when they're ready, start things all over again, and soon enough, another BFP comes along. IMHO, if a BFP keeps occuring, then that's a good start, and eventually, fingers crossed, the female body will get used to the BFP-hormones, and maybe just one day stick it out long enough to get to the stage where a baby is born...

    PMA and SBD TA :)
Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...

I know I have no right to moan compared what is happening to others on this board. And I feel guilty as hell crying about it even. Goodness get a grip you stupid cow you have perfect cycles for goodness sake. I will not cry ... I will not cry ...

If I ovulate for my temperature to go up today then i've no hope as i've not had a filling since 3am sunday morning.

Don't be daft it's not silly to be upset and get frustrated that it isn't happening as quickly as you thought, it's human. When you want something so badly waiting to get it is the hardest thing, especially when you have little control over when it will happen.

There is always someone worse off than you but that doesn't mean that your problems/worries don't matter. If it's upsetting to you then it's important.

Stress will only delay ov further so try to relax (I know not easy to do). Even if you did ov today and BD'd tonight or even tomorrow morning you still have a chance to get pg. If your temps haven't gone up yet then you are still in the game. ((hugs))

Thanks everyone again for the nice words and the stern talkings to ;). I'm feeling a bit more in control now :o

I called the doctors this morning, still no results, I have to call back tomorrow. I think if I'm still feeling wobbly I may ask for an appointment to see my doctor and see about some counselling.... maybe.

Colli I had a look on the MA website just before you suggested it. They don't do counselling as such but do have a helpline you can call. It's just not as practial as going to see someone face to face. They do have some support groups but none in my area.

    xx

That is true, my birthday is near fireworks night so I did get fireworks outside sometimes but you are right, I could never have anything outside really!

Oh yeah I actually hate the Daily Mail :) but the thing about August babies not doing so well at school I have read in other places before. And actually that wouldnt necessarily worry me so much as I know I would put tons of effort into teaching a child, it would be more the stuff as they got older I guess.

Although I suppose as a parent Id probably be glad they couldnt get into a nightclub :rotfl:

True :rotfl:plus hopefuly by the time they've passed their driving test they'll have seen enough friends getting a, ahem "telling off" for bashing the car so will be more careful:D. Saying that it took me AGES to pass (first time but took about a million lessons) so all my friends were driving before I was anyway :rotfl:
