haha TeamLowe! I think I'm going to need all the motivation I can get to get jiggy regularly again!
Actually, once we actually get on with it, it's quite enjoyable, it's just the thought of it sometimes..it seems like a bit of a chore!

I have decided to take a step back from posting and coming on here. There is far too much animosity on this thread and i feel like if/when i do get a BFP i'll either be ignored or unwanted on this thread.
I've posted a few times and don't get much response, I did at the start but i'm finding this a lonlier and lonlier place as time goes by and i need somewhere with support, especially when cycles come and go. Some people are lovely on here and i genuinely wish everyone the best and hope you all get BFPs. BUT i hope it happens to everyone, not just the people who have suffered mc/been ttc for long. Everyone deserves a BFP.
It really makes me sad, i thouht this place was great when i started then it seemed to get very "clique" like, its like being back at school.Saving money like a trouper...0 -
in a way your clinic gives you an advantage over the rest of us, we're all going into it 'blind' so to speak, no idea of how thick lining is etc. it must be fustrating though x x
In my mother's day, there were no IVFs, so I'm luckier than her, but I'm sure few years down the line, IVF will become an exact science:cool:MV, one of the great things about this thread is the amount of times people try to persuade you to have sex, we're like drug pushers for your partner's good times :rotfl:x xdundeediva wrote: »I have decided to take a step back from posting and coming on here.0 -

Is A & E the right department though? Since it was 5 weeks ago? Are there a walk-in clinic nearby he could go to?
How bad is it?:(
I'll second that:)
Our A&E doubles as a walk in clinic, but they have separate entrances for real emergencies. He can't bend or straighten either of the fingers (they are permanently in a gnarled sort of shape) and his baby finger doesn't face forward anymore, it's almost at a 90degree angle the rest of the his hand. I shouted at him last night because it has started to go a dull grey sort of colour and I think its dying because it has no blood flow.
On a more serious note, its a real shame that people are feeling the need to leave the thread because of the atmosphere (if that's possible in cyber space). Dundeediva - I wish you all the very best and hope that you get a nice BFP soon xx14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
dundeediva - I'm sorry you feel like that, although it seems completely understandable atm. I'm hoping that it all calms down soon and we can get back to just being supportive and wishing good vibes to each others' eggs.
In terms of time of the thread I'm probably still a relative newbie (although I do post quite a bit and we've been trying for years). I honestly have been made to feel very welcome by the vast majority of posters here though.
FWIW, I do think overall this thread is brilliant. But as with all things in life there is always some less than brilliant parts. My personal opinion is that one poster seems to be pretty over agressive on a number of occasions and it's very offputting to a lot of others. However, I've probably made things worse by saying that so I'll keep my mouth shut now!0 -
Sorry you feel like you've been pushed out Dundeediva
I know that I struggle to keep up with everyone's news on a personal level because the thread just moves so fast and I don't tend to visit that much, especially on an evening and weekend when it goes mad, I'm sure that for a lot of people it is a similar case- not ignoring you on purpose, just struggling to remember everyone's news!
Hope your OH gets his hand sorted Lilymay, my OH is a rugby player so I'm quite used to visits to A&E and broken fingers (amongst other things!) Luckily the only finger that hasn't been broken and subsequently oddly shaped is his wedding ring finger! He's been warned to keep that hand out of danger now as I'll not be impressed if he can't wear his wedding band, I'll be tattooing it on! :rotfl:

As it was 5 weeks ago, Lily's OH might be better off going to the GP first. Anything that A&E could have done for broken fingers, would need to have been done in the early stages. After that, bones begin to heal and set (sometimes in the wrong position), and so more specialist treatment *may* be required.
I broke my little finger in May last year, and tore away part of the ligament/tendon at the same time. I didn't bother with A&E cos I was pretty certain that they wouldn't do anything other than strap it to the next finger and tell me to rest it, which is what I was already doing. But after a couple of weeks, when it was still bruised, still very sore and I could barely move it, I decided to visit the doctor. Unfortunately, there really isn't much they could do other than to continue with what I was doing, and as the pain eased, to start gently exercising and flexing it.
She also warned me that it would take months to heal fully. She wasn't wrong. It was about 6 weeks befor the swelling started to subside, and 3 months before the pain eased enough for me to start using it in a more 'normal' fashion. And it's only been in the last two months, that full motion has returned (and I still have a little bump where the break was)!
So, Lily, also bare in mind that his injury could take months to heal. If it is more serious than my break (I was lucky in that my finger remained fairly straight), then he may need to be referred to a specialist by his GP. So I think GP is the way to go, unless he is in absolute agony all of the time.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Euornorris - Thank you for the input. I will get him to phone the GP instead (he'll be much happier with that!) and go from there.14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130

Your welcome. My finger also went through a variety of different colours in the bruising stage. From purple/black, to blue, to green, to a weird pale orangey type colour. Is the finger cold to touch? Does it warm up at all? Can he move it (even if only a little) by using his other hand to make/force it? Those are the things to be wary off with regards to blood supply.February wins: Theatre tickets0
