Inflatable obstacle course at your age?:rotfl:

Work team building day! It wasn't at all embarrassing to be screaming and crying in front of work colleagues! :rotfl: Then I had a few people insisting that I should tell them who did it, as I could sue them!!!! Talk about over reaction. It hurt like hell, but it was an accident!!! Needless to say, I never did tell anyone who it was.

    Congratulations to the BFP'er! :D

Thanks TeaLover. I've no idea what effect cocodemol has - it was just what I read in the instructions.

I'm a bit of a stickler/sucker for stuff like that. I read on here once a while back that diet coke doesn't do you any good whilst trying to conceive. Now, I have absolutely no idea if this has any basis in truth but have found myself refusing diet coke in the 2WW!

Wimped out and am going to the dentist this afternoon. Hope he doesn't laugh at me and tell me to man up!

Totally off topic but my tooth still really really hurts. I'm still on quite a lot of painkillers (glad I read the instructions for co codemol properly, it says not to take if you're trying to get pg) so I rang the dentist who did the extraction. Nurse said if it hurts that much then go back to see my dentist. Kind of feel I should but on the other hand I also feel like I'm being a bit of a wimp and should man up with the pain!

Having my tooth removed (surgically) was more painful than having a cyst removed from my wrist (which was a more invasive procedure)! I took paracetemol and ibuprofen at the same time, and that was just about enough, but I wasn't TTC. So I'd definitely say go back to the dentist, make sure nothing else is causing extra pain, and see what they recommend for pain relief whilst TTC.

What strength are you taking atm? I was on max doses of both paracetemol (2 * 500mg 3 X a day) & ibuprofen (2 * 400mg 3 X a day). Perhaps you will be able to take a stronger dose of the paracetemol after you have seen the dentist and consulted with him/her about what is safe?

If nothing else, I can assure you that it does start to ease with time. x

    Hi Bigbird,
What was it like gettin your coil out. Lol am so worried about getting mine out on monday.
My partner also knows that I could catch anytime (fingers cross) Af should be due for me a few days later if all goes well

Hi good vibes. It was fine and took hardly any time at all. I had my smear done at the same time and it was no worse than that. The doctor told me to take a deep breath and said I'd feel a tug, but I didn't really feel anything.

I took some ibuprofen before I went as I'd read that could help when I was having it fitted, so thought it would probably also help with it coming out.

Did you say yours was a copper coil? Mine was a Mirena, so I don't know if it's different.

What is the coil like?I'm not sure what to try after we have a baby as cannot go back on the pill again

I'd definitely recommend it. I've not had AF since it went in :T and not had any problems with it at all. Once it's in, you can just forget about it for 5 years, and fertility should come back straight away if you have it taken out.

    Congratulations mlbarrett! :j

    Thanks Euronorris.

I've been taking 3 x 400g of ibuprofen a day and 3 x 1000mg paracetamol a day inbetween the ibuprofen. I'm struggling to get through the day on the recommended dosages really.

Off to see my dentist this afternoon so hopefully should clear things up really.

Hi sara, your story of the past sound very much the same as mine.
The coil worked for me (copper coil), as I didn't get on with many of the pills. I went up to a size 20 within a year. After that I lost 5 stone size 12 now.
I also wanted something I could whip out and start if I wanted to. I would consider again as it suited me. Just not had one taken out before lol.
With a coil I was in control, when it comes out am leaving to the unknow. I am anxious to have it out it maybe that's why and plus never had the chance to ttc. Yet very exited at the same time.
My partner coming with me, they said he could stay and hold my hand. If it comes out fine (had for 10 years and not felt strings for a while), I will sit there and cry for joy lol.

    Hi Big bird,
Copper coil has no hormones and can stay in for 10 years, so still had AF every month.
Thank you, was also planing smear at same time and will ask questions while I am there too.

I'm a bit squeamish with those things but given I can't go back on the pill (it really did make my depression worse and I had awful headaches) I will be needing something.I did consider the implant but heard nothing but horror stories from friends.

That's incredible weight gain, wish I'd put some on on the pill.I'm only size 6 so also worry about giving birth because my hips are so narrow :( Friends think I'll need a caesarian and that doesn't help my fears.

It's nice to know there is somebody out there with similar problems it can make you pressure yourself so maybe we can kick each other if either one of us starts to feel bad and blame ourselfs if it's not happening?

I'm so confused about this whole thing. I think I may have over-googled. I've read that co-codamol is fine, and also that it's terrible. I've also read that all NSAIDs are a bad idea, and something else that said they were fine.

Have been eating pineapple core all week and have now just seen a blog that said that's a bad idea as well.

I give up, it's too hard to keep track of what I can and can't do! I thought not drinking and no caffeine would be ok but I still seem to be getting it wrong!

I think this depends on the coil you get. I have a copper coil, but it has to be replaced every 5 years I think (yep, just checked my card). Mine is called a Felxi-T.

I still have AF every month also, and it was really quite painful for the 1st few months, but has settled down since then. However, I did read (when I was researching the options), that some women find it way too painful. Usually, these were women who had heavy, painful periods to begin with. But it is something you should keep in mind when considering your options.
