zcrat - the things I've read about ibuprofen and other NSAIDs tend to refer to long-term use, rather than a few days of treatment for something specific.

I think the general advice was avoid them where possible (as with all painkillers) but don't panic if you need to take a dose or two.

I should point out I'm not medically trained at all, this is just things I've been told and read over the years.

I have been here before zcrat, but thanks for the welcome :)

I'm not actively trying yet, but I do like to follow the thread and get very excited when a BFP happens.

Are you due to ov soon?:)
I started my new job yesterday - it's fabulous and I really hope I continue to love it because I feel like it was made for me. Maybe it really is true about one door closing (my last job) and another opening. <3

Hi 2ba, I was just wondering where you were! Glad you're happy in your new job :)

I didn't know that you were supposed to avoid reflexology in the first 3 months, gosh it seems like there's not a lot you can do when you're PG! :o

4 pages since I left this morning! I can't keep up!

Anyway, just got back from A&E. Phoned the GP and the next appointment they had was 2 weeks away....! Basically, of the 3 bones in his finger he has crushed 1 of them and fractured the other 2. They told him off (quite rightly) for leaving it so long and he has an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon next week. By putting it off he has made the problem 10x worse and I am so angry at him! Idiot!!

Sara - Being small doesn't mean you will need a C-section, just as being big doesn't mean you will be able to give birth naturally. Our bodies can do amazing things when they need to :)

QQ – I love your posts, you seem to always be here and always seem so positive. Thankyou for keeping the lists for us all, you must put a tremendous amount of time and effort into this forum and I wanted to say how much you are appreciated
Metranil – welcome back to the thread
2ba3c – nice to see you pop back on here, glad you’re loving the new job
Good Vibes and Sarare– welcome to the boards, everyone is very friendly and helpful here, even if just like in RL, sometimes there is a difference of opinion. I have learnt a world of things being here…. possibly even things I didn’t really want to know!!
MLBarret – congrats on the BFP!
Tinks – those stamp bags are fab, I feel inspired to find myself a 2ww project now (instead of window shopping for shoes that I will buy should the witch show up)
TeamLowe – I like your gran’s saying about how the babies are playing with the angels waiting for the right time to be with us .
Zcrat – I hope that tooth is sorted quickly, toothache is just horrid!
Emsbet – lovely to see you pop back on
Tealover - I always thought you shouldn’t take ibuprofen or paracetamol in the 2WW, cant remember where I got that from though.
Birdie85 – Hugs for you and your SIL
Weshgirl – we had a new girl start with us this week and she is from Wales, reminded me of you and thought I would wave hello!

See, writing nice things to all you lovely ladies has really brought my mood up. I’m on CD8 so ready to hop on that rollercoaster again for another go, been trying since July 11 so just a couple more tries and off to the docs for us because a) we would have been trying for 12 months and b) I turn 35 next month and so figured I should get everything checked out. However I am hopeful it won’t be necessary as this month feels like a good month and May is going to be a bumper load of BFPs on here…..
If at first you dont succeed, try, try again

Zcrat - I have read that ibuprofen & other NSAIds block production of prostaglandins which is a hormone chemical which regulates temperature and inflammation and can therefore can affect the release of the egg and the advice therefore seems to be not to stop taking right before ov and not take it again until af. The nhs states that they have no research on this point and they do not think short term or one off use will affect ttc but that if you are having difficulty ttc then you may want to stop taking it.

Sorry to hear that Lily! But I'm glad he's had it checked out now and will receive the help he needs. I hope that whatever treatment they decide on is not too invasive, helps and heals quickly (you don't realise how much you take your little finger for granted until you can no longer use it!).
