I've spoken to Nicki on PM and I don't think she's reading the thread anymore so you may have to PM her if you want her to see your message :o

Yay :j MV for being back on the team sticky list.

    xx

Thanks emsbet, hope you and bubs are wel!

I am really really sad about that. :(

That anybody felt the need to leave the thread because of others, for WHATEVER reason - is pretty disgusting in my book. This is supposed to be a place of encouragement in times of what can be utter heartbreak, turmoil, craziness and happiness.

And this place will not be the same without Nicki. She had lots of useful sciencey type facts!

  • Can I firstly say thanks to everyone for their wishes.

Sorry I have been missing since Monday, I couldn’t bring myself to read the thread without actually knowing what was happening with me. I went to see the doctor on Tuesday morning and he sent me to the hospital for a scan (he dated me at 6 weeks). Nothing showed up on the scan (I wouldn’t have said I was as far on as 6 weeks so no great surprise). They did a blood test which came back at 25 and they re performed the test today and my HCG levels were down to 9 so I am no longer pregnant :(. I also passed out when leaving the hospital this afternoon after giving blood, in the end I had my OH and 5 nurses/midwives round me with me sitting on the ground outside the hospital, whoops:o.

I am however going to take a massive positive out of this experience – I CAN get pregnant :). Given my erratic cycles and discussions with my GP I was worried about not ovulating but this has proved I do ovulate :).

So now not sure what cycle day I am at, will I call it CD4 as I started bleeding on Monday?

The hospital are recommending that we wait until next AF before we start trying again so I may go quite for the next few weeks, I will however still be reading and sending sticky baby dust to you all.

You poor thing DB. It's such a roller coaster. I'm a fainter too! I think it's understandable given what you've been through that it all becomes too much and you pass out.

Anyway, I'm thinking of you c
  • Congratulations to mlbarrett:j
Hugs to those who have had CD1 since I last posted
Welcome good vibes and Sarare – I hope your stay is short and sweet (in the nicest possible way!)
    Squ1rrel5 – hugs for PCOS
Mrshappy – so sad to hear your journey has ended, this ttc lark is such an emotional rollercoaster. Hugs to you and mrhappy, take care of each other.
Tinkwings – I love the bags
Bigzippy – what awful news, I know words can’t help at the moment but I am thinking about you and your OH, take care of each other.
    Zcrat41 – ouch to infection.

I have felt nothing but support from this thread and can honestly say I couldn’t have the same discussions with people IRL. As I said in my previous post I will probably go quite over the next couple of weeks as I won’t have much to add as we take a break before resuming ttc (my OH does everything by the book and since the hospital said to wait for next AF then this is what we are going to do). I will however be reading along and wishing sticky baby dust to all.

((Hugs)) to those that need / want them

Zcrat - I have read that ibuprofen & other NSAIds block production of prostaglandins which is a hormone chemical which regulates temperature and inflammation and can therefore can affect the release of the egg and the advice therefore seems to be not to stop taking right before ov and not take it again until af. The nhs states that they have no research on this point and they do not think short term or one off use will affect ttc but that if you are having difficulty ttc then you may want to stop taking it.

Thanks Primmer. Hopefully I have nothing to worry about as it's just short term use. Well, I'm never having any more teeth out if I can avoid it!

    Just realised if I get a peak tomorrow - it's Friday 13th - my lucky day - I was born on a Friday 13th!!

DB - just read your post. I'm so sorry to hear it didn't work out for you this time. Think it's great you've been able to find the positives in what must be a really tough situation. All the best over the next few weeks and do keep popping in.

DB, so sorry to hear it didn't work out this time, look after yourself.
Doctors like you to wait one cycle for dating purpose but you're meant to be more fertile straight after so as long as you've stopped bleeding, feel free :)

I think you count after mccycles from the last day of bleeding, not the first, or at least that's what I did. Take a pg test once it's stopped as you won't Ov until all the hcg is gone x x

BD - That is not the news I wanted from you, but you are an incredible person for being able to take a positive from the situation. I really admire you. Best of luck for the future and I await your return here. Take care xxx

You need to get those OPKs out again then:D

I have to wait until I'm exactly 5DPO next cycle. But even then, my clinic has strict hormone and lining criteria, and if any of those is not to their liking, it'll be postponed to the following cycle zzzzzzzzzzzz.

As soon as AF arrives, I'm back to the clinic at CD3:cool: (I'm 10DPO now, and my LP is about 14 days).

Here's hoping you have an amazing lining & fabulous hormones!

Well, my twopenneth on the 'heated dicussion' which I will give & then make no further comment on. My prediction comment has been referred to (but without the additional part that I actually wanted the whole thread to get pg).

Let's get real ladies. If I say I hope that I turn into a princess this month, is it going to happen? Getting pg is important to us all, or we wouldn't be here. But guessing how many people are going to get pg, well it's a bit of fun - it won't actually make people pg (although would be amazing if it did).

I don't want anyone to leave. Healthy debate & discussion is good for the soul, but let's feel the love on here. We all have the same goal. There's enough rubbish in life without creating unnecessary angst.

Please don't go (breaks into song).

Nuff said (steps down from soapbox).

Anyway, maybe it's today's PMA getting the better of me.

Called the hospital at 9.00am to try & book HSG. Was told that it wasn't possible today & would have to call next month. Having asked again she said she would see what they could do & call be back. She called back 30 mins later & said it could be done at 3.00pm. :T Apparently it was my lucky day as the radiographer doesn't normally work on Thursday.

Anyway, without time to worry I took two paracetamol & two ibruprofen & went for the appointment.

It was similar to a smear in terms of discomfort although took slightly longer than a smear & I felt period-like cramps during it. Took no longer than 10 mins on the table.

Afterwards was sticky with the dye (clear) coming out. Was issued with maternity sanitary pad (nice).

Results should be a couple of days so need to book again with consultant.
