Welcome to newbies, hope your stay is short and sweet
Re: Ov tests the cheap ones off amazon are what most people use, but I you want to go even cheaper the sex every 2-3 days is the method recommended by doctors. How much pressure that puts on you as a couple is a different matter- ie if you're already a 3 times a week couple it'll be very relaxed but me and DH tend to be lots at the weekend none during the week sort of people
And my relationship also moved fast compared to most- living together after 4 months, engaged after 9. But when you know they're the one everything comes natural) x x

Thank you for this! As for the CD - I'm still trying to work what all the abbreviations mean. My period started on March 20th and cycles are 31 days. So I'm expecting AF on 19th April. I guess that puts me CD23? (of 31?). I don't know when (or if) I OV'ed.
I had a really bad shooting pain just before - I was in the kitchen and ended up having to squat down because the pain was that bad. Only lasted for 30 seconds though.
I HAVE MY FINGERS CROSSED FOR EVERYONE AND CHRISTMAS BABIES THIS MONTH! !
cd = cycle day with cd1 being the first day of full flow bleeding,
so yes, you are on cd23.
i suffer from IBS on occasion and that can give take your breath away stabbing pains, general rule of thumb is if its on my left side up under my ribs and down its wind:o middle or right of my abdomen is ovaries ? and is a shorter sharper pain.
hope ive helped anyway, its all guess work sadly :rotfl:Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -
Evening all - very chatty thread today. Caught up on my phone so not quoting back. Welcome newbies, you'll get all your questions answered here (and learn a lot).
BZ - thoughts are with you.
Back from FS appointment.
He talked through the test results arranged by the GP & told us the following (I think this is what he said, some of you may want to correct my understanding!) -
SA results very good (120m, average 20m - OH very happy!)
Progesterone (ov test), fine & shows I do ovulate
Something else (?) gave a result of 11. 10 & under is healthy fertility. 15 & over is not. His advice based on this is that we shouldn't leave it any longer before progressing with treatment (er, that's why we are here).
Had an internal scan & saw eggs in both ovaries (left dominant this month apparently) and uterus looks fine.
Next steps are to have the HSG x ray & then go back to see him. Due to where I am in my cycle I need to have this done by Saturday. Not sure if they do Saturday's & am away with work on Friday. So that leaves tomorrow.
Going to call first thing & see if I can get it done. If not, will have to wait for next month.
Primmer - sorry that your hospital are delaying yours. If it's any consolation, the HSG is costing us £190.
He said that assuming all was fine with HSG, he would probably start with fertility tablets for a couple of months. Can anyone tell me if there is a specific day in the month you start taking these (might influence how quickly we need to get back to see him).
In summary, no major problems identified so far so feeling quite positive. That said, expect to ovulate at the end of next week & OH & I are apart for a couple of days  which won't help with getting pg!0 -
Your FS appointment sounds encouraging TTC40. Was the test at 11 an AMH? It sounds like you were just outside the normal range for that one and the other results were great.
As for the posts about my earlier one, I'd just like to make it completely clear that I have never ever said that anyone who is pregnant is banned from posting on this thread and have often chatted with pregnant ladies on here. Nor have I ever begrudged anyone a quick BFP and I was not responsible for the upsetting prediction post which was quoted. There are 26 of us listed in the opening post who are TTC but have children already so I am baffled as to why that is a bar to posting, and why a pregnant poster who also had previous children when she was posting on this thread should be telling me I should not be here for that reason.
To be absolutely clear though, my view is that this is a thread to support people who are trying to conceive in a variety of ways, both emotionally and with practical advice. There are 3 threads for pregnant women for emotional support and practical advice at that stage in their lives. There are times when women who have been TTC for a while do not want to read pregnancy related chatter, so in my view it is only fair that this should mainly go on the pregnancy threads and the pregnant ladies if posting here should be sensitive to how the TTC ladies may be feeling. We all like occasional news of graduates and wish them well, but if we want a day by day account of their pregnancy, we can choose to follow them on their own thread as many of us already do. We do make friends here of course but there is also a high turnover on the thread with between 6 and 8 BFPs on average per month and a similar amount of new joiners. So a lady who gets a BFP could expect to be in a cohort of around a dozen when moving on to a pregnancy thread, but if she continues to post the minutiae of her pregnancy here for even one trimester will be completely unknown to up to 20 new posters, other than as a pregnant stranger talking about morning sickness while they are venting about CD1. Without referring to anyone who posted tonight, some women who vent and cry in frustration when TTC about facebook announcements and pregnant work colleagues surrounding them, forget that feeling very quickly when they get their two lines and get upset when others feel about them the way they felt about others!
So far as I can remember I've only ever expressed disquiet 3 times on this thread or it's predecessors about certain types of posts and have never saiid that disquiet meant anyone was forbidden from posting. The first was a "joke" about the reason for miscarriage being the woman was not good enough to carry a child, made by a newly pregnant poster at a time when 6 of us, myself included, were in the first 2 months after a miscarriage all posting very regularly. I was very upset and said so. The second was last week, when I suggested that a new poster who was already pregnant and asking about early pregnancy symptoms might find more help on the less than 12 weeks pregnant board, and the third was this evening, when having taken it on face value and offered sympathy as I would to any poster who had learned bad news, it transpired to be misleading in the extreme.0 -

Good morning girls:wave:
I know I've decided to go on with my life as if there's no baby, but I'm getting myself into a pickle now having accepted various work projects I can't back down. Those that involve quite a few long distance (and short) flying.
So long as I'm past 12 weeks it should be fine though, right?
I think I'm doing the tempting fate thing quite well:cool:
mlbarret, so, can we call it a BFP now?:)
DefinitelyBlonde, are you ok? Have you seen a doctor?
maire, (((hugs))) for only one choccie. The trick is to eat is really slowly:o
Yay for getting your health sorted, c'mon maire's baby!:j
Tinkwings, that tote bag is brilliant:T And you are right, that's not a pic of our Queen:p
tattoo, group hug from me too
good vibes, good luck not demanding BD at ov times:o
It is normal to take up to a year to get pg, so when your partner is not up to it, skip a month.
I assume your partner knows about female cycles and ov windows?
CD1 is when your AF is full flow red blood (spotting does not count as CD1).
ikkle87, you can erase all your details and give it to someone else. Don't know the legality of it, but I'd print out all your charts before erasing them:D
Go to Data and delete.
kaleys, (((hugs))). Perhaps you could get a printout of all your blood levels and you could post here or Google.
Most things are curable these days, so don't despair:o
It is good that they found something that's preventing you from getting pg, once that's sorted, you should be fine:)
I've added you to the first page, let me know if you'd like things changed:)
lilymay, you could be pg or may not be. Whichever it is, no SSing until you get a BFP, as you'll make your symptoms worse:o
Sarare, welcome!
OPKs are great but it may put some pressure on you as one keeps getting negative OPKs as that's how it is until you get your positive:p
How regular are your cycles? Do you get ewcm?
Time2deal, have a great trip!
Champagne at the airport? Very posh:beer:
TTC40, the fertility thing sounds like FSH to me, as lower the FSH is better, while with AMH, higher is better (you said anything over 15 is bad).
The fertility tablets sounds like Clomid, they are usually taken for 5 days at the beginning of the cycle. I took it for CD2-6 but I know some suggests CD3-7 or even CD5-9. It depends on the FS I suppose. You should take it in the night after a full meal, as some have side effects (headaches etc). I took it on an empty stomach once, the world started spinning:D
Good luck with your HSG, take a pad with you, and I took strong painkillers beforehand just in case:p It didn't hurt at all though:cool:0 -
Q - thanks for the info on Clomid & HSG. In the big scheme of things, waiting a week for an appointment isn't much, but as many of us are experiencing, one short delay takes you to a whole new cycle. I appreciate I am fortunate as a cycle for me is a month when for others it's much longer.
Agree on tempting fate. We've just booked a long haul holiday for the end of the year. If pg, I will be fine to fly (subject to medical agreement), but there's a few things about the trip that won't be suitable/ ideal if pg. Will quite happily deal with the problem/ wasted money if necessary!
It's so difficult to plan when you are in limbo, but personally I am still trying not to put life on hold as pg may not happen.0 -

QQ - + OV smilie this morning for me please xxxIf you can think it........it will happen0
