Hugs to all - big hugs to Rum. I think we all know what you are going through.

CD28 & 13 DPO, no sign of AF.

Cancelled day 1 bloods which I had booked for this morning. Will call GP later to see what I should do about another appt - don't want to face the grumpiness of a receptionist if I have to book and cancel again. It's flippin difficult!

OH asked yesterday when I was going for bloods & I said today if AF arrived (didn't call it AF as he would have thought I was loopy).

I told him that I wouldn't be going this morning & I would have to rearrange. He smiled and said that maybe I wouldn't .....

I'm now going to feel really bad if AF shows - he's never been 'waiting' for it before.

    It really is difficult!

I stopped cerazette in August, had a light withdrawal bleed after a week and then a 56 day cycle. Since then I've had normal cycles of 30-32 days.

Temp down again this morning after 2 v high ones over the weekend. Think I'm going to need to discard them both! Do others that temp set an alarm at the weekend to get the reading at the same time?

Yes but only if I need to temp - if its not around an important time like ov or 2ww I wont bother. You need to take it within around half an hour because otherwise your temp can really change. I think if you put it in FF anything more than 55 or 60mins off your normal time it will put in a white dot to show its not a proper temp.

I was reading how you should expect to OV about 14 days before AF is due rather than 14 days after if you've got a long cycle (like I seem to be enjoying currently) so I hope that means I still haven't OV'd yet and we can still catch it once OH's up to it again... bad news is that would mean I'd OV on CD36 which just sounds like far too long! All I want a nice regular length cycle! :o

Yep your luteal phase (bit after ov) is usually 14 days. Apparently anything from 10-16 is normal though. Mine is around 12-13 for example.

So you only really ov 14 days after AF, if you have a 28 day cycle and a 14 day luteal phase.

I use opks and temping because like you I have a long cycle and Id never know when I was ov otherwise. Then i also know that AF is coming 12-14 days after that, otherwise I wouldnt know that either! My periods have been irregular since coming off the pill but my luteal phase has stayed pretty constant and Ive read thats often the case.

My DH is the eternal optimist too. Last month I had been waiting so long for ov, he was like maybe you missed it with the opks and youre actually already pg too. I said I wish that was true but Ive been temping and I know for sure 100% neither is possible. I ended up having to do an ic pg test just to prove it to him :rotfl: Luckily I ov a few days after that or he would have been unbearable haha.

He said this month is our month, he can 'feel it in his juices'.. i said im not sure if thats nice or disgusting !:rotfl:
  • Hello everyone.... sorry I have been away so long.. not that you have noticed other than the 70 day DPO LOL.

It has been manic here and we have put TTC on hold for a couple of months as we are making a big move next month and it probably wouldn't have been best to be preggers in the middle of it. So on Feb 14th we are flying to Australia and probably not coming back - well at least for 4 yrs. We'll be in Canberra as OH has a job there. I am very excited about getting back to an English speaking country.

Anyway back to business... I am actually CD8 with OV hopefully being in the next 6ish days. I will dig out my Therm and OPK's as I think it is safe to 'start up again'.

I am going to go back 10 or so pages to catch up on the recent goings on.

So hello to you all... I am not a big poster but will be keeping track of you all xxxx

Hi everybody, hope all well and had a good weekend - sorry for not responding to all posts, so much to read through and just quickly popping in to say hello :)

Feeling really positive this week - I think this is one of the nicer bits of the cycle, am CD10 and feel like I can still hope for this month and actually do something 'useful' this week like OPKs, drink cough syrup (!!) and, oh yes, have lots of sex... DH is away next weekend though which could be prime time so I'm a bit worried about that, but thinking if we BD Friday morning and Sunday evening we might still be ok, even if I OV Saturday or Sunday. Going by dates of previous cycles I should OV next week on Monday or Tuesday, fingers crossed that will be the case.

Thanks for all the info. re: pregnancy tests to those who have posted. I have a load of internet cheapies from Amazon (from 'home health' I think) and also two digis in the drawer which were only about £6 for 2 from Amazon which I'll save until I get any sign of a second line on an IC.

Ok, back to work, hugs to all those feeling low.

I had to take a test yesterday to prove to OH that I'm not already PG too- fair enough it was after I'd just had an hormonal breakdown so he was trying to claim it was for a particular reason rather than me just being mental! Poor thing is just so desperate for it to happen, was quite sad when I showed him the BFN :o

I know I should temp but I'd never stick to it and I'm such an active sleeper that I'd be lucky to get a reliable reading, add to that the fact that I always take about 20 minutes to drag myself out of bed and I have to be as quiet as possible so I don't wake OH up so taking my temp and noting it down would be quite annoying for him... well it's just not going to happen! I have decided that when AF does arrive I'm going shopping for a shedload of OPKs, Concieve Plus, Agnus Castus... the most bizarre period party shopping spree ever! :p
