Just how many times did it fail the MOT due to 'Nearside Stop lamp not working' ??"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Im not sure, it needed replacement rear seat, im not sure they could be repaired to be honest. The engine wasnt as smooth in idle as id have liked, had a kind of judder every so often and im sure it had fleas ! i was itching for ages after being in it :eek:maninthestreet wrote: »Just how many times did it fail the MOT due to 'Nearside Stop lamp not working' ??
yup not great and there had been no work done on it since, I think the owner just used and abused it as such, which was a shame as it was nice on the outside, just a wreck in side.
the bmw is nice though, gave it another run to day and you sure know when the turbo kicks in (aside from the drop in mpg!) it purrs and sends you back in to your seat. its very smooth and easy to drive, probs are just cosmetic.
decided to leave the rear wiper disconnected, and got the stereo working by... connecting it. previous owner had obviously replaced the head unit and then removed it before selling and just stuck the old one back in. gonna fit a replacement my self too when decide which one i like thats compatible with the steering controls etc.0 -

is the 325ti a turbo? i thought it was just a 2.5 litre engine.0 -
No it's not a turbo lol - it does have vanos though, which will give a kick (though nothing as extreme as a turbo tbh). Will be a fairly quick little car which might be throwing the op a bit but if i'm honest I'd be a bit worried about their ability to maintain the car if they don't even know what engine is in it!0

I suspect the 't' in the model name is what made the OP think it was a turbo, however the German word for turbo begins with a 'k', and BMW don't seem to bother indicating which models have them anyway.0

oops yeah your right
the Ti did throw me and having driven a porsche on a track day which had a turbo kick in, I was comparing it to a similar sensation (although obv not as fast!) in comparison the the punto i was driving before it was mighty quick lol (have had other better company cars too !)
I now know the TI stands for Touring International on the 20020 -
i know who the seller is (not personally, just by his ebay id) he sells loads of cars, and they are often relisted again and again, so i think they are often better in the pictures:A R.I.P. Dave "Simmo" Stimpson.....:AA friend, A Gentleman, and a Damn good pool player. You will be missedone in prison, not long enough0

that may be true but he also told me approx 40% of winning bidders either make not contact or do and fail to turn up.
i had a good look around their compound, and to be honest most cars were in better nick than the inside of the jag i was looking it. there were 3 other jags there and 2 more being delivered while I was there, and they did all look mint.
A guy collected a xjr turbocharged v8 and it was very very very nice indeed.
ps the jag i was looking at has since resold for £1420... will be interesting to see if its relisted again in a few days or if the buyer takes it...
took the BMW to a halfords autocentre, for a Free 15 point check.... expecting them to say brake pads etc
but he looked at them all and said all look as new, and must be a faulty detector sensor somewhere. Obv didnt do any further work on it as that would be chargeable. all Filters look fine, doesnt need a service for another 6k miles, and suspension is fine too.
Very honest and upfront about it all, so quite happy overall now.0 -

Ok, I stand corrected, however turbos and superchargers are both compressors surely?0
