I'm just trading in my 2003 ford Fiesta for a current Fiesta. I assume that I shall be getting 2 keys for the new car from the dealer. I have 2 spare keys for the one I'm trading in. If I just give back the original key plus 1 spare is it possible to reprogramme the other spare key to the new vehicle or will I have to buy a new blank to be reprogrammed? Any advice appreciated. Thanks0

No it will need to be recut you would be very lucky to recut your old one. and depending on the age of your new car possible that the chip is differant.

Hi Rossi
The only one that I know in kent is http://www.enigma2000.co.uk/ they should be able to cut and code a new keycard.
please don't waste your money on ebay keys at best you will get a second hand one that cannot be reporgrammed at worst you will get a fake key that will damage the vehicle immobiliser permenantly!!! i have seen it happen many times.
Hope that helps0 -
pfft you people don't know you're born! Just bought a Lexus RX from a 'reputable' dealer. Dropped the bombshell that it only came with one key. Not the master mind. Phoned our nearest dealer to find out how miuch a replacement would be £100? no £200 nope £400?? not even close. £2000 they want!! ******* daylight robbery!0

Does it come with a slave who carries it around for you, opens the doors and drives the car to your destination?:A0

The car should have come with minimum of 2 keys as you bought it with one I would suggest that they are at fault and should be paying!!!
Oh and I can supply a lexus key for a lot less that £1k;)0 -
Hoping someone can help here.
I have an X Reg Ford Galaxy with one remote locking key that works fine. I recently lost the second key.
Not wanting to pay Ford's outrageous prices I went to a local locksmith who made a second key for me. He tried to program it and was successful insofar as it operates the central locking. However, it won't start the car so presumably has not overcome the immobiliser. Very decently, he let me keep the key without charge.
I am therefore looking for someone in the London area who will be able to do whatever is needed to this second key so that it operates the ignition.
Any ideas?0 -
