Replacement car key. Outrageous cost!

Is it necessary to transfer the chip into the new key fob? Could you not simply leave the old fob, with the chip in it, on the same keyring as the newly cut key? Just curious.0

The cost of replacing keys is ridiculous, I cover mine with driver guardian, I lost my key and the re coding of the transponder was a fortune, thats why I covered it, £12.50 I think it cost me, that was an honest john code, I dont know if its still valid but it was HONEST22.0

hi, if you get a normal key cut (not a chipped one) just stick the transponder remains under the steering column with tape. This works and saves you fiddling about!0
