Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
I'm sure I should be doing something other than typing this, oh yes, sleeping, thats it!
This is the 2nd morning I've been up at silly o'clock, I might try & have a snooze this afternoon, otherwise I will end up going to bed too early & then waking up early.
I called the AA yesterday & they managed to free up my ignition but I'm not sure how long it will last, I need to book the car in to get a new ignition fitted, but as DS is out of action at the moment I'll phone round for a quote. If it's too expensive then I'll have to wait for DS or his friend to sort it out.
Plans for today include scrubbing the rest of the kitchen cupboard doors & making some biscuits as I have a friend visiting this afternoon.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Need to have a peek in the freezer in a mo for tea.

Big hugs to all who need one today. Hester hope the car stays ok.

    Morning my lovelies!

    Hope you are all well.

Boiler man is coming this morning, had asked BIL to walk the dog for me yesterday...not sure if he will turn up or not. Would be a massive help if he did.

I'm having porridge for breakfast :) seeing if this keeps me full up till lunch time.

My friend wants to meet up today and go to cinema or for dinner, but as we're trying to be sensible this week i don't know what to suggest to do, as don't want to fork out for either of them. and i'd need to get to town which is another expense..

Washing is out on the line - it's taking forever to dry!

Dinner tonight is bacon and mushroom pasta bake.

    Have a lovely day all!

    Morning everyone.

Another carp night sleep, both the kids ended up coming for a nocturnal visit so I decamped to DS's bed. Then bl00dy cat was mucking about, managed to knock something loud and heavy off a shelf. Ended up kicking her out at 5am
DS announced he doesn't want to go to Black Country Museum today, he wants to go to the park instead. Great a day off to make memories with the kids and he just wants to go to the park again. I fancied doing something a bit different for once so might drag him there anyway :o

Not sure what's for tea tonight, haven't looked at the planner.

Sorry not much OS happening here :o

bramble - can't you meet friend for a picnic or something instead or can she get to your house so you can stay in and have several cuppas and a natter ;)

hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not.

    Morning everyone

Dry, bright and sunny here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Had brekkie, and pleased it's my last day at work, really need some time off. Weather looking ok for the weekend, just hope we get a decent week, but to be honest am getting past caring. Hope my negative mood will lift once I've finished work today, had a c**p day yesterday, it's the time of the month and I'm starting to see a pattern of mood swings during the month, will look into herbal remedies/vitamins to see if that helps. I'm not normally a negative person but feel this is getting worse and out of control. :o

On the OS side, we had egg, bacon, etc last night - I had menu planned this for Sunday morning but then plans changed so needed to use the ingredients up before it was thrown away - really find it difficult to do that nowadays!

After work today will be collecting the boys - have really missed them this week, so it will be good to have them back. Have quite a list of jobs to do before we go away at the weekend so will need to crack on with those.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.
