I often see people here talking about leftovers from Sunday dinners. Do people just use what wasn't eaten, or do you take the leftovers off plates too? From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -
Leftovers for me is what is left from a roast or a chicken etc after the meal has been dished up. I wouldn't take the leftovers from plates (although I have been known to reheat my dinner if I was too full to eat it all
).

There might be people out there who salvage foods off plates but I certainly wouldn't. If I had a dog that's what I'd do with plate leftovers.
I rarely have any leftovers myself because I live on my own, so even if I cook too much I generally eat it all. That's probably why I'm a chubby0 -
Yuk............. not off other plates. Yes for food not served up, or left in serving dishes.0

If someone hasn't touched, for instance, a roast potato, then I'll save that for later. I take bones from plates to make stock.
I don't save half-chewed broccoli
I'll add this to the Leftovers thread later.

Blech! Anything that's been touched with a fork goes in the bin. Using bones off a plate to make stock, even though it's been boiled just doesn't seem right to me. Fortunately, we're all different and that's what makes life interesting.0

It's only my familyI can't see what we'll be sharing from dinner plates that we don't share ordinarily

I know what you mean but when when I had a partner (back in the Dark Ages) even though we swapped saliva kissing I couldn't touch anything off his plate. Like I said, we're all different and I'm probably more different than most0

I am doing brisket in the slowcooker today and will have plenty left over. Any suggestions as to what to do with it?
Thanks.
