When I was a meat-eater I enjoyed cold meats almost more than hot. To me brisket equals hot, salt-beef sandwiches on rye brad with mustard & gherkins *reminisces and drools*0

I don't save half-chewed broccoli
I'll add this to the Leftovers thread later.

Yep me too, my kids are always swopping and eating each others left overs anyway (they're like Jack Sprat and his wife :rotfl:). OH and I often take a box of left overs to reheat for a meal at work the next day, and it all goes in (so long as nobody has drowned it in vinegar or tom sauce!)Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
Leftovers that didn't get dished up get saved for another meal, either as they are or I recycle them into something else like bubble and squeak.
Leftovers that have been on someones plate go straight to the dog.0 -
As there's only me, I hash them into something edible the next day
If I have lunch with my parents (sometimes go round to snaffle a free Sunday Roast!) I often come home with a foil package of leftovers - but that's the stuff that hasn't been on the plates.
But I never get to keep the gravy....my Dad has a thing about left over gravy - in that he has to keep it to add to the next batch. That sounds revolting now I've written it down, but it's delicious and hasn't killed us yet :rotfl:0 -
I've just scraped the uneaten salad off my sons' plates to be stuffed into a pitta bread for OH's lunch tomorrow.
I wouldn't save anything that had been chewed of course, but they really hadn't touched the salad -why would they, they're teenage boys after all?
I do however add bones that may have been chewed to stock made from the chicken carcase. I read somewhere (think it was Hugh F-W) that the long boiling involved in stock making would kill off any possible bugs your family may be harbouring bar anthrax.0 -
Off plate goes to the dogs and veg to the chickens- other

Good question op...........I'm cooking a shoulder of lamb today.
I know there'll be plenty left (there's only me and him) but not sure what to do with it.

I agree with PP here! If there are items that havent been touched or soaked in gravy etc, then I will put to oneside if I want for later etc. TBH though, there is rarely any roasties and yorkies left, but mostly chicken, meat/poultry and veggies.
