Wonder if we can claim a record for jars of scews and such. My mum still has jam jars full labelled by her dad pre 1976
Moved to her house circa 1984. Not used.
Bet someone can beat that though!

Hi, just popping my head around the door to say thanks for your helpful comments left on GP's diary, I am signed up with both groups, they are doing sterling work to help so many people.
I am pleased that you are on 8 weeklies, I have been for a few years now, although did fine on 12 weeks for a long time. I have read your diary since last Summer and found it so interesting reading your thoughts, it is 15 years since my diagnosis and had forgotten so much of how it felt at the time:(
Quote My pet hates are dithering drivers, drivers who cant reverse or park and those who dont know the width of their cars Quote
The above
made me grin, this flippin illness makes me guilty of all of the above at times in my life:o I much prefer to drive on my own these days so that I don't have to divide my concentration between driving and holding a conversation, and my spatial awareness really took a hammering, lots of bruises to show for it:rotfl:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Ha Ha Maddie re driving quote! My feelings are based on the fact I live in rural tourist magnet and sometimes,in the summer especially but also at this time of year when the visitors arrive to look at the snow, how they drive it really gets my back up - sorry! I can drive in a city why cant they manage a narrow road with the odd kink in it.............and why do they have to chuck their rubbish out of the window
The more I read about PA Maddie, the more annoyed I get as to how its treated/diagnosed/viewed by the medical profession and how varied treatment can be. Luckily I found a sympathetic GP - the practice nurse has all but told me I am making up my symptoms:eek: I certainly know I have been presenting with symptoms for about 4/5 years and the difference I feel now - more in control and interested in life well, more vital is how I would describe it. Feel I can tackle some things which I am sure have happened almost as a symptom of the symptoms IYSWIM -debt weight clutter.......... However it took a few years to build up the debt the weight and the clutter so removing it now I can focus and the fog has lifted, is not going to be quick overnight job;)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

I inherited my Grandad's shed and its contents a few years ago........there are unopened tins, packets, boxes dating back to the 1940's still in the shed and still in an unopened state:eek: He was in his shed everyday and the last time in 1999 - all that stuff he did use as he was always fixing things for everybody in the road where he lived - everything except his and my Nans stuff! We found 6 kettles in various state of being dismantled.Toasters,hair-dryers vacuum cleaners, irons and every wood working tool ever know to man - OH now has those in his own mahoosive shed:rotfl:

Posted this on EE thread but copying it here too jyst to keep all my thoughts together!
I decided at the beginning of the year to stick to a £70 a week budget for food, cleaning products, pet food, toiletries. So far so good each week coming in under budget and includes a door step milk delivery - I have milk delivered on principle. We also have a fruit/veg box from local enterprise in the village. We are 2 adults and a late teen and 2 cats BTW.
Granted our food stores are extensive - freezers and store/cleaning/bathroom cupboard but meal planning and no waste playing a big part too. I bought A Girl Called Jack book and have been pleasantly surprised- easy economical adaptable stuff During January I have using cash only for food shopping but I may well go back to free click and collect in February now I know we can easily live on £70 a week and I am going to reduce it to £65!

The Idiot In Charge has begun the headless chicken dance...........I am refusing to be sucked in- have plans to go away sometime over half term. They have cancelled their plans and will be going in every day...........I dont think so:mad:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

You still get the 'call' with 5 weeks notice? How retro! And actually way more stressful than the call with 24 hours notice. Or indeed the no-notice call when in special measures. Don't get sucked in to the hype. Half term is on your terms.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Personally (and I'm speaking as a parent not a teacher) I would prefer no notice or short notice inspections. I would like to base my choice of school on a true representation of the school. Not "how much work they can get done in 4 weeks notice"
I know teachers are under a lot of pressure and I'm fine with the fact that not all their paperwork will be in place etc but I don't like the idea of a potentially bad school working their teachers to the max in 4 weeks because of shoddy management.
Sorry my opinion. XGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000
