Good Morning Igamogam
Great news that the inspectors have gone and all OK with you/your team....a big stress out of the way!
Guess you have been very busy organising and getting ready for the building work on house - hope all going well and you are managing to jump the hurdles more cleanly, and new ones not popping up?
Easter just round the corner, so hopefully you will manage to take a little time out to enjoy the outdoor.
Love n hugs

Have been silly busy for what seems likes weeks now. I was going to post a long diary entry explaining it all but TBH I dont have the time and in reality it would all be a bit rambling and not very interesting!
On the debt busting / MSE front I have paid off another 3.75% in the last 6 weeks - its been a close call with another humongous car bill:mad: We were going to get a new car but other things have taken over for now, so new car is on hold. I have kept up with the PADs and have kept, by an large, within the £70 a week grocery budget I set myself. Haven't bought anything other than what has been necessary since January - I tell a lie I bought a dinky measuring thingy for £1 I think but I got rid of 3 sets of measuring spoons and 2 jugs so I could justify the spend
On the 'getting rid' theme I have continued to declutter and am now in full Konomarie mode. Although I dont necessarily follow her methods or agree with her theories and principles I have given some of it a go and have to say its very impressive my change in attitude to 'stuff'. Have donated lots to Oxf*m and collected Nect*r points and have sold plenty too.
The biggets news has been we have just taken on a £15K loan:eek::eek::eek: I know I know but it will be repaid in full in October if all goes to plan. We have an endowment maturing then and will use some of it to pay it off. Loan set up with my local credit union and with no fees and over payments easily made it was the best option. I am not counting it in my overall debt as there is money to kill it in 6 months time.
The reason why we went for such a huge loan??? Think I have mentioned it before...... We decided to bring forward by about 15 years replacing our central heating/hot water/cooking system..........bye bye solid fuel Ag* hello fab sustainable new system. Bit scary. We thought that we would have to use my pension lump sum when the time came to do this work but with government incentives at the moment it made sense to go ahead now. Over 7 years we will receive back over £14K so a no brainer really. I will miss the chugging purring cooker ( and will the cats) but not the faff and dust!
Work has begun and its all a mess - I hate this stage.
Cold wet and very windy here. Havent ventured into garden yet and am really missing it but enjoying the early spring flowers when I briefly spend a bit of time outside trying to top up the Vit D!!
Wind lifted the conservatory roof last night - may be an insurance claim
Oops I said it would be a long post!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

 to conservatory roof. Hope it's not too bad for you.
The loan sounds sensible. It's kind of a bridging loan I suppose if you can clear it in October. Hope it's not too messy for you and work is completed quicklyGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Had confirmation work will start in earnest Monday week. Suits me cos I will be back to work.We will have to buy a new cooker - conventional one with knobs that turns off :rotfl: I have signed up to Wh!ch (£1 for a month and £7+ from topc@shback
) to help with the research. Not in a hurry as we can manage on our 2 ring camping stove which is what I have used every summer for the past 20 or so years!!!
Got a nice surprise in post today.A share windfall of £350:)Totally unexpected but very welcome.Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Strange thing happened to me yesterday.......I haven't made an AF order for many months so I hopped on the website just for a nosey. I saw a great offer - saffron for £4.99 RRP £14.99 so I thought 'I'll have some of that' and before I knew it my 'basket' was up to £35. Just before I clicked 'confirm' something stopped me, a little voice saying 'Really? Saffron is in your plans is it? And do you really need all that pasta/jam/rice etc??' The truth is I use saffron and the rest of the stuff is all store cupboard staples and would be used, not wasted, BUT NOT NOW......the cupboards are full ( probably from previous un-thought-out AF orders !) So for the sake of having some bargainious saffron I was willing to spend £30 more. Saffron is not in my food plans for the next few weeks and would probably got forgotten about and shoved to the back of the cupboard.
I think what I am trying to say that I realised I have made a seismic shift regarding 'bargains':D

Busy busy day.
Seem to have been jettisoning 'stuff' for the house for years. In reality I think I as just playing 'stuff' tetris. Without doubt lots of things have left the house by various means but then replaced. I have sold a lot and given a lot away and its not been so much I have been buying without thought because lets face it for last 4 or 5 years we have had very little spare cash, but more a case of being given things, keeping useful things for work, rescuing things from friends 'throwing out sessions' and not wanting to part with other stuff which I had been attaching some sort of emotional nonsense to. I stumbled on the Kono Marie thread by accident at beginning of year and have been absorb by others stories and experiences on there, many of them reflecting my own. Slowly but surely I have a had a LBM relating to the amount of things/stuff/possessions we have been hanging on to for many and varied reasons .
I am definitely worse than my OH who keeps things that I wouldnt.........one day he will have his LBM and I know he has been long suffering but during a 'heated discussion' I was shocked to be told he thought an over stuffed house had blighted our DDs lives especially the younger one. I was very angry at first but can now see what he meant. I have known why its happened and how its happened but it is only recently I have been able to face with dealing with it properly by finding and adapting a method that is suiting me.Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Also found 3 cheques that need banking, whilst sorting through paperwork into the wee small hours. About £200 worth - how did I forget those:eek:

Hello Igamogam
Just found this and only had time to read the last few posts but you are working wonders. Well done.
Just posting this to say saffron is 45 pence in Lidl for 0.1gram, if you live near to one. HTH.
