The problem I have with planning is that in my work life I plan to the Nth degree, which is target driven, unfortunately and despite what is claimed, with little room for spontaneity and creativity, answerable to people who are far removed from the reality and way too much pandering ( which is really dishonesty in another guise IMO) for fear of upsetting the apple cart................hmmm sounds like am looking forward to Monday:mad::rotfl:

Outside work I am more laissez-faire which in my world means 'to be allowed to' but in economic circles means: the theory or system of government that upholds the autonomous character of the economic order, believing that government should intervene as little as possible in the direction of economic affairs. Well who knew:eek: My just allowing attitude is probably my downfall but if I am honest with myself I am never going to be one of life's great planners but I am determined to make some changes for the long term good:D

As already mentioned money saving pots set up,weigh loss being addressed and more decluttering in The Non Planned Plan. Thought about the budget a bit more and will be using the envelope principle for vets bills,DD2 activities, milk bill, hair cuts - chosen these as they happen irregularly with the exception of the milk bill which is usually monthly but is always paid in cash so easy to 'envelope' every week. I am going to set a food budget of £70 a week to start with but I would like to reduce this - think we will be in credit for a few weeks as plenty in stores and freezers. I will make a more use of meal planning as we really need to use up what is in the house at the moment and of course this December and January payday 6 weeks apart

Changes in habit and behaviours a little more tricky as some of it involves me stopping doing household chores in an effort to keep the house in better order - I know what I mean! DD2 and OH will have to start doing a lot more...............clearing up and putting away as we go along is a mantra I have been drip feeding over this holiday. I no longer want to be doing a big clean/tidy every weekend/school holiday. I need to create time to devote to other things and as I cant change the laws of physics the only way will be changing behaviours and attitudes - this is going to be hardest challenge and I expect tears before change:(

As some readers will know I work with a micro manager who I feel is only going to get worse as they become more under pressure. The only way I can deal with them is to find some more confidence in myself and I feel that some weight loss will help this - mad I know but I have experienced this in the past both personally and seen other colleagues treated with more respect when they have lost a lot of weight - some people are very shallow! I have joined a weight loss thread and also one that I hope will inspire me to make the most of myself:)

So that is 2015 in a nutshell: save, reduce debt, lose weight, declutter, enjoy life a little more and be the best that I can be........no pressure;)

Thank BB :) First day back yesterday passed without incident...........day 2 is always the worst with the frogs : the realisation that they are back in an environment where NO means just that :0

However today I am not in work ( feeling guilty) because I have my annual MRI scan in a specialist hospital 100 miles away. 5 years ago I was diagnosed with a brain tumour - a small, slow growing, non malignant tumour I hasten to add and as long as it stays like that it will be left alone:) But it is what it is and needs monitoring. There has been no change since diagnosis and if that is the same today then I wont need annual MRIs - probably every 3-5 years:) Fortunately I am not bothered by having a scan and I have no symptoms that impinge on getting on with life. Its the expense and the inconvenience of a 200 mile round trip that I hate :D

Operation create more time is well underway..........bit of a wake up call for the rest of the household:rotfl: Operation eat less also well underway............I even threw chocolate away yesterday but succumbed to a stray mince pie but I will get there, its early days;)

Typing this whilst watching brain surgery on Newsnight. ..........!! Probably not a good idea after having an MRI scan on my own brain:eek: So a 200 mile round trip and 15 mins in scanner! Results will be posted.

I'm happy and optimistic and feeling in control:D

Oh My Good Lord.........the micro manager likes an idea I suggested - secret could be that I mentioned it could save about a fifth in certain budget area:D

Will post a fuller financial round up at weekend - having to work on temperamental lap top or a new tablet which I haven't quite got to grips with:p

However I have started a little personal challenge - heard the other day it 122 days to the General Election. When it was announced that it was 100 days to the Scottish Independence vote I paid £1 a day to a designated debt.............this time it will be £2 and some lucky debt will be £244 lighter by the time the virtual swingometer is dusted off:rotfl:

Hi Igamogam Hope your results are good and that you won't have to keep up the 200mile annual round trip.

Well done on getting an idea past micro manager ;) although I would probably brace yourself now. I'm sure she will claim credit when it does save money from said budget.

I didn't actually realise that the GE was so close. I suppose it's a bit like Christmas. You know when it is, you know it's coming and then BAM! It's next week!!! Let's hope more people get out and actually vote this time around. And good decisions are made (whatever they may be)
