They declutter 1 thing on 1st of month 2 on 2nd etc etc - dont think I am going to be disciplined enough for that but I am going to try to put at least 1 item for removal in allocated bag/box everyday so that will at least 7 a week - thats the plan anyway;)
Can I join you please Igamogam?
I am about to start the great declutter and thought a nice target to aim for would help - I will also attempt 1 item a day.0 -

So that is the decluttering, the savings, and the weight thing thought about and planned for.............now need some budget targets and some change in behaviour/habits goals.
Going to do some gardening today with help of DD1 - cold and frosty but garden needs a tidy and its garden waste collection day tomorrow:DBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Family all threatening to go out tomorrow into mountains to play in snow........I am going to decline and enjoy some peace and quiet and begin a paper declutter - it build sup into such a mountain despite me being very good at discarding any unwanted stuff as soon as it comes through the door. It goes either into recycle box or log burner. Really need to get more ruthless and file more often
Anyway that is the plan for tomorrow: inroads into the clutter

I am exactly the same (not with climbing mountains but with paperwork!!). I even have a filing cabinet next to my desk but I just bring the paperwork up and sit it on top of the cabinet :undecided
I get rid of all the unwanted stuff as soon as it comes through the door.
Maybe we need to do together as part of our challenge?
Today I am going to clear the top of the filing cabinet and file everything so I can start afresh tomorrow.
I have started the declutter and have loads of things lined up by the front door but nothing had left.
Some things have now left:
1. Set of 18 Yankee Candles (to DS' girlfriend, she loves them and we don't so a good use of an unwanted Xmas present)
2. Guitar for Guitar Hero
3. Guitar Hero II game0 -

Ashamed to admit it we have 4 x 4 drawer filing cabinets in our house and 1x 2 drawer:o
I am not a fan of yankee candles either - I had one as a Secret Santa one year..........made the classic mistake of keeping it still wrapped and putting it back into the same SS the following year..............yep the original giver got it back:eek:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Loving the Secret Santa issue - I guess you all put a present in and then pick names? We pick names and then get a present to suit.
I have sorted the top of my filing cabinet - I have made 2 new folders, one for committee work which needs sorting and one for paperwork which needs dealing with.
It all looks so tidy.
Nothing extra gone out today but tomorrow DH is off and we have errands to run (his truck won't start in cold weather so I couldn't pop out today as DH had my car at work) so hopefully can go to charity shop with the stuff already sorted.
Hope you have had a good day.0 -

Er......no. This SS is amongst a group of girl friends - we all go out for a Christmas meal as close to Christmas as poss - started when we all had small children and it was our 'gift to us' away from said small people and husbands:rotfl: 20 plus years on we still do it:D We all put a present in a box/bag at beginning of evening then at coffee and mince pies we all take a present out and a Christmas themed story is read out which has a lot of right and lefts in it.............presents are passed left or right until story ends.............causes great amusement:rotfl::rotfl: If you end up with your own present then you can exchange - strangely it rarely happens!
I am trying to type with a cat leaning on my right arm.......will come back later with last few thoughts/aims for 2015:DBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

I like that Secret Santa idea - shame us work colleagues are not all there on the allotted day otherwise we could do this.
Just copying from my own diary to update the declutter challenge:
4. Old work uniform (I left 18mths ago and they have changed uniform since then so put in clothing bank as sure someone can use it as no business names on it)
5. Set of serving dishes (unwanted Xmas present to charity shop.
6. Nut cracker (unwanted Xmas present to charity shop)
7. 2 Mugs (we only have room for 10 mugs and the numbers were creeping up again - to charity shop)
8. Handbag (unwanted xmas present to charity shop)
9. 2 items of DS' clothes (this is a miracle as DS can never part with anything so 2 is better than normal)
10. 1 shirt from DH (to charity shop)
11. Clothes of mine (about 10 - I got these from jumble sales but when I got them home they did not fit. I didn't mind as the most I pay is 50p per item (usually 20p per item) and I have had some right bargains so I don't mind some not fitting - to charity shop)
I have also taken all the glass to the bottle bank, have posted off DH's provisional driving licence with ID which he should have done a year ago. Also posted a watch which needs some links removing - this was a Xmas present from a few years ago and it has just been sitting there so posted back to address given so hopefully I will get this back soon all ready to wear.
Hope the cat eventually got off your arm and you managed to declutter more Xmas goodies!!0 -
Bit of a lazy day - out at friends last night and only got back after 4am - excellent night out! DD1 last day at home today so family day rather than a day of setting goals and targets:)
Have decluttered plenty more wine and chocolate:DBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
