Weekend again..........not sure where the time is running off to at the moment! Oh and its another busy weekend but work stuff is sorted so I should be able to concentrate on house and finances.

We have a car for the weekend on a test drive...........its probably what we will be buying next years sometime for me to do my daily 100 mile commute........going to see if it lives up to expectations and can cope the abuse.... not from my driving skills! I am a fab driver BTW just assertive and dont suffer fools on the road:o My pet hates are dithering drivers, drivers who cant reverse or park and those who dont know the width of their cars:mad:

Meeting up with old friends tonight along with some I see a lot of.......... mums takeaway night out! We use to have a few of these when our children where little: A takeaway/contribution meal/theme meal at a friends house - bring your baby with you. As the children got older we carried on but left the children with dads! Now most of our children are grown up or in their teens and we have a number of splinter groups doing similar things. But tonight we are going to get together to catch up..............going to be a noisy long night:rotfl:

£50 received from Y*u G*v and I am 4500 points of getting my next £50. Took me about 2.5 years to get that............I wasn't very vigilent about responding to the surveys but now do every one that is emailed - hoping it wont take that long this time!

That is £50 gratefully received together with a £111 'lottery' win from my old place of work - still pay in my £1 a week to an 'in house' lottery which helps raise funds and I won the triple roll over:D

Today is my work at home day which I have not had for a few weeks...........lots to do! First thing is track down the small creature that one of the cats have brought in. Its obviously died and is making its presence felt........:( Have moved every bit of furniture in living room including piano and no luck yet!

Blimmin gorgeous day here today - just as as well cos we have had all doors and windows open...........have worked out where pong is coming from - something has crawled up chimney and died there:eek: Has to be a shrew, usually is as our cats rarely kill those as they bite and give off a nasty taste. BTW our cats eat everything they catch.....they earn their keep! Perils of living in a rural spot in a house nearly 180 years old.

The smell is diminishing............leaving a number of windows open over night has helped :)

Replacing lights in kitchen ......seemed a good idea at the time but now turning into a bit of a hassle of a job - nothing is 'standard' in an old house!

Caught the news reports on TV about 'Black Friday' - !!!!!!! Send it back to the states where is belongs along with trick or treat IMHO:mad:

I claimed my £50 in August and received it in September - it had taken me years (will check back on my diary for exactly how long) but since then I have done the same as you and have been responding to all surveys and I already have 1910 points. By my reckoning, if the surveys come in at the same rate I will be able to claim again in about 7-8months:T

Glad you found the source of the smell - decaying animal is a foul smell :rotfl:

I can testify that shrews bite :rotfl: - my cat caught one and when I noticed it was still alive, luckily the cat let me take it off him and when I picked it up the blummin thing bit me, the shock made me throw it down whereupon the cat killed it and ate it :rotfl:

It was it's own fault really, if it hadn't of bit me I wouldn't have thrown it down:rotfl:

My male cat is very good and eats everything he catches, luckily he rarely brings anything in. He likes to miaow at the door and when you open it he shows you his 'catch', we say good boy and close the door and he eats it:rotfl:

In the summer he kept bringing home baby pheasants:(, when I saw some legs sticking out of his mouth I thought he had stolen the neighbours chicks but DH investigated and discovered they were baby pheasants. The cat was walking along our row of houses to a large field, he must have found a nest as he brought them home every day for about a week :(

Much discussion about smell, lights and new car today.......... lights are turning out to be a PITA, smell waning but we may just be getting use to it and may go for the car earlier than thought - depends on figures. I feel some number crunching coming on in front of a cheery log fire with a glass of wine tonight

No DD2 around this weekend - away with Explorers. Have been doing a Christmas shop on the Big River site with my e vouchers from various survey sites. Logging onto B**ts later and will shop with loyalty points. Have some vouchers for M and ESS and N£xt also and of course will be logging into T*P cashback.............how all very MSE. Go me!
