Err...um?? Do you mean the Equality Act? I guess if I need it at some time it would be useful................but TBH if I get to that point it is time to take the pension;)

Afternoon tea with friends at a local food/produce centre - time to catch with some people in my life who, second to immediate family, mean a lot to me:)

    Still working on list.............:rotfl:

n I meant the disability discrimination act. Bare in mind I am no longer UK based, but it used to be that if you came under this, your employer had to put systems and processes in place to accommodate your condition.

Ref the micro manager, start keeping a diary of her actions. In case you need to take a grievance against them. Pays to be prepared. Hope the number crunching has sent you off to sleep.
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Managed some time in the garden:j havent done any 'proper' gardening since beginning of August - just lawns cut and a bit if feeble weeding and dead heading. Its one of my favourite times of the year in the garden - there is a sense of bounty and abundance where ever you look - fruit trees creaking under the weight of apples and damsons. Greenhouse burgeoning with toms peppers cucumbers. The herb garden is buzzing with life. The few veg we grow - courgettes beans and potatoes in pots and little ball shaped carrots - just keep coming and the late summer flowers are beginning to mix with the first of Autumn. Even the early summer plants are having a little last splurge. The hedgerows around about are full of rich pickings - sloes brambles and rowan. I have a wild hop which makes its presence felt most years and needs a lot of taming - I took it in hand in the early spring and its looking fabulous winding through ivy covering a dry stone wall. The sun has been doing its best today and and even the swallows have had the good grace not to depart just yet - plenty still gathering on the wires.

Nothing could be better IMO:) Which seemed to be a similar opinion of 2 cyclists, who today cycled down my garden path leaned their bikes against the porch and asked if there was a menu! I was sitting enjoying a breather with a glass of water at a small table we have in the front garden and was quite amazed to be suddenly 'invaded'. There is a cycle track/way further down the lane through the village at the bottom of the hill and they thought my garden path was part of it and that my house was some 'watering hole' along the way!!Think their map reading skills needing brushing up. The perils of living in a tourist area..................:rotfl: made me laugh - they were suitably embarrassed :rotfl::rotfl:

  • A neighbour's tree hangs imperiously over our garden and is currently full of fruit that has been described (by other townie folk, hence I'm asking a rural like you) as either greengage or damson. Before all the little blighters fall off the tree and are accidentially hurled back into neighbouring garden (by the little Bloaters, not by myself obviously), is there any use for them in their picked state. Cos I'm not averse to going out there and getting a basketfull of them if there is something practical I can do with them. And please bear in mind, and you should cos you've followed my escapades for long enough, I am no cook. Anything involving gin would be a bonus.

    Hello Townie;)

    Damson gin for you then:D

Greengages have green skin - (I know!) and damsons are very dark purple and quite small - over sized marble but when ready to eat are obviously not as hard! 'Picked state' means ready to eat in my book ( none of this supermarket ripen at home carp) try some - should be sweet with a hint of tartness IMO

Damson gin apart they make make excellent jam and 'cheese' and chutney. Stew some with sugar and freeze to make crumbles. Greengages I have only ever even eaten in their 'off the tree state' but have seen jam made from said fruit.

If I find any recipes will post unless someone pops along first...........

Old style thread may have some........go on Mr B you know you want to:D

Today is my work at home day :) The sun is out the grass needs cutting and damsons need picking..............and I already have a mountain of paperwork to do for work.............not counting this as '15 things in Sept' list because this is work that has to be done at home which is why I am here today. Makes sense to me. But first its a quick tidy then a trip to the dentist. I dont mind the dentist - found a good one 24 years ago and have stuck with him ever since. Consequently I very rarely have to have any work done other than 'maintenance' of the carp dentistry I received as a child. For me going to the dentist is a means to an end. Not always painless but long term benefits out weigh any thing else:)

Another 0.75% off debt :) That is 4% since 1.08.14

Dentist done and lunch eaten. Think I am going to sit in garden with book and take advantage of the weather rather than tackle paperwork. After all paperwork will be done by Monday:) These sort of days will be few and far between from now on until well into 2015............light levels definitely dropping as yesterday car decided it needed it headlights on for first part of work commute. Wont belong before I am getting up in dark and coming home in dark:(

Up early but already wasted an hour on here - found new diary to read and have been catching up:o Have ditched a few old, not around any more, or beyond belief diaries:D

Yesterday we went along to a local ( well over in the next valley) community event. I had £20 and it all went which wasn't my intention but hey ho! Amazing what a community can do when it comes together on a common project...........

Consequently having spent most of yesterday out and about, I am behind on house plans and work plans which is why I was up so early trying to catch up. Tired already so may just go back to bed for an hour! I did have line of washing out by 6.30am - moon still visible:rotfl: but its warm with a slight breeze so I am banking on that being dry by 10. Lawns where cut yesterday just the damsons to pick and process and a few garden tidy jobs. Next week is going to be a bit full on as DD2 is back to all her usual after school activities and I have yet to find out if my old yoga class is happening or find time to go swimming as per my List For September.......bleurgh.

Debt busting slow and steady almost another 0.25% paid and my personal '£1 a day until Scotland decides' challenge comes to an end next week so I will think up some thing else to challenge myself with.

Oh yes have had an Eb*y sale:j

Love to the nod to Scotland there with your challenge! :) Made me smile..

have to say damsons and greengages are some of my favourite fruits, not so fussed re damson cheese but all the rest are marvellous.

Saw some great sloes yesterday and still more blackberries, must get out and retrieve some before the frosts..
