Do you think we will now be charged if we don't use a HBOS bank machine? I did hear some banks were starting charging for this.

    It doesn't look like it.

The Halifax Rewards link from the home page takes you to http://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/rewards/?!!!!!hpc_p10_pr_but_r1, which tells you about the 'Exclusive' Reward Saver (max. 2.5%) but no mention of 0.2% on any savings account.

The 0.2% was nice while it lasted.

No. They will tell you personally if they ever introduce ATM charges.

I have not heard of any bank that is doing this.
  • Not read whole thread but I have LTSB current accounts and a Halifax Reward. I knew Halifax were updating as I couldn't make transfers on Sunday 11 Sept. Next day they were available. So went to LTSB site to Faster Pay to Halifax a/c and it didn't go by FPO but by transfer, just like between LTSB a/cs. Ditto in the other direction.

So it does seem they are treating the two as one as far as movement of money between the two is concerned. The Halifax login had changed some time ago to be same method as LTSB (username, password, then three random characters from memorable info.

I too have a BOS reward account and a LTSB, moving money between, the 2 is great, shows up instant, i think internal transfer. Also paid in a LTSB cheque into BOS reward account shows cleared, as if paying into a LTSB account. Only downer, was expecting to obtain a mini statement from LTSB cashpoint, using a BOS debit cashpoint card, no luck there i'm afraid, maybe that will change, who knows

Transfers by FP once LTSB got their FP systems into gear were quick anyway but even better now.

TBH I only have a Halifax Reward Account for the reward :). I don't have a debit card or cheque book. I use the LTSB account for everything (well one everyday Vantage plus two other Vantage accounts). Not sure if I'm taking a risk having a Halifax current account with nearly nothing in it, apart from the few minutes £1000 goes in and out (which I need to do manually as I can't guarantee £1000 will go in before it come out again).
Now Halifax have updated their Mobile reminders and since yesterday I'm getting a txt to say I'm near the limit, which I would be with either £6 or £1 in the account :)
  • Hello

I am a regular lurker, who has accounts with Lloyds & Halifax, and I work for Lloyds. Integration of the retail banking systems has been put back, it's not happening this month, or next, the systems are not merged yet and there is no confirmed date for it at the moment. It's work in progress. Some other areas are now fully integrated with HSOS but not the branches

    Hope that helps:)
