They may have told you that to get you off the phone instead of explaining the full situation.

I did not get that impression, the person I spoke to seemed extremly knowledgable and did explain in detail what is happening as I had some concerns about old debts with halifax, which have since been paid, affecting my Lloyds TSB account.

Some customer profiles have already been duplicated accross, and are available to view by ltsb colleagues alongside the lloyds profile, they show up on the same screen, with the same details included. I myself have selected the wrong one by accident a few times and ended up in the halifax profile instead of the lloyds one.

    Not possible
Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)

Lloyds Banking Group will hold all your customer data.

Lloyds TSB staff in branches and call centres will not be able to access your Halifax customer data. Halifax staff will not be able to access your Lloyds TSB data.

Would they not possibly merge departments once the migration has fully taken place?

For example in my department at Natwest and I can access RBS accounts as I have a dual branded ID log on.

Another example in my building we have telephone banking half the office answer calls for RBS and other answer calls for Natwest however the natwest side can take RBS calls and vice versa.
Im an ex employee RBS Group

I work for HBoS, but have went through full lloyds training over the past few months to aid in staff training and integration. I have also been alternating between taking both lloyds and HBoS calls over the past few months, and have been helping to test the new systems a couple of nights.

Could it be then that HBoS can see both Lloyds TSB and their own data for reasons of training on the new system, but Lloyds TSB can only see their own data?

Do Halifax and Lloyds share the same call centre now then?

Interesting I just called HBoS and they say they don't have access to Lloyds details either. Something fishy here..

I doubt that Halfax front line staff (eg branches) can access Lloyds customer data

I've been into a branch and they appear barely competent to use the computer , ask for your behaviour score at Lloyds and they will tell you - ask at Halifax and they will not know what you are talking about

Lloyds accounts are not viewable using Halifax branch computers from what I observed in branch

I suspect that the internet banking helpdesk and card blocking may be able to see both banks data

I think that Cheltenham and Gloucester use the Lloyds TSB computer system and presumably use the same customer ID number for both brands

Birmingham Midshire are part of Bank of Scotland and these do not appear to have been merged , although I would be surprised if they do not know that a customer holds accounts across the brands for "single customer view" purposes

Halifax branches will claim that they are unable to perform some administration on Bank of Scotland accounts eg upgrade to Ultimate Rewards account and they are brands of the same bank (Bank of Scotland)

    They can't.

Halifax branches don't operate on a "behaviour score" system. They do have a suite of guaranteed products specific to the customer in front of them. Doubtless formulated in a similar way to a "behaviour score" - but a much more concise way of presenting things.

It seems Halifax and BoS branches are going to lose more functionality than they gain though.
I suspect that the internet banking helpdesk and card blocking may be able to see both banks data
But if a Halifax customer calls, the Lloyds TSB data will not appear on the screen when the customer details are submitted.

But the ability to switch brands will exist if the next customer to call is Lloyds TSB. This will eventually apply to all call centres allowing the flexibility to shift resource across brands as and when required.

Correct. That will have to change at some point.

BM actually have some of the most efficient systems I've ever seen. LBG could have done worse than to adopt BM systems across Lloyds TSB, Halifax, BoS and C&G. As for Single Customer View - it's all there in the background at banking licence level. As for marketing, not sure - but it would make sense not to market Halifax products to Lloyds TSB customers and vice versa, unless a trigger identifying leaving the group has been identified.
Halifax branches will claim that they are unable to perform some administration on Bank of Scotland accounts eg upgrade to Ultimate Rewards account and they are brands of the same bank (Bank of Scotland)
There are one or two oddities around the BoS brand.
