Ooo Dan, I love you! I was just about to sulk because it isn't on - and there you are saving the day.... Unless of course you are a dentist in which case I'm scarpering as my mothers fear of dentists has passed on to me - strangely I only developed the 'phobia' as an adult! Ooops, sorry, off topic again...:o

No I work for ... erm ... BBC Wales :rotfl:

By the way for anyone not in Wales who missed the programme, it's repeated with signing on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning at 12:40am on BBC One.

I'm going all 'good life' now thinking about growing some salad and veggies! Can anyone recommend any good books/websites for absolute beginners? I would definately encourage a gardening board, it would be great for newbies like myself looking for advice and ideas.

Readers digest do a 1001 hints and tips gardening book which covers fruit and veg as well as normal plants. Basic but good for beginners. All my other veg growing books are hand me downs from granparents that i doubt you would find nowadays!!
  • oh and the bbc gardening pages and forums are a wealth of info. The people on the forums are practically experts and can give advice on just about everything

Is this the right place to start a "We want a gardening board" campaign?! (tried it on the Christmas board and got told that the lawnmower sounds were drowning out the jingle bells!:D )

sorry was out getting the weekly shop , i got my seeds from https://www.alanromans.com they are only 50p a packet

Thats a great site - a lot of interesting different stuff.

Last year, I grew cherry tomatoes in hanging baskets. They had fruit on right through from June to late September. I gave my DIL one, and she had it hung on her upstairs window.
