Doubt full as she is doing a correct thing in her community.
But I dare say the question asked by those that signed the petition would be should the child have access to council housing in the future?

    You are joking, right? :)

Here are a few they should throw the book at :)

    TBF this one.
A girl of 17 from south Manchester admitted burglary after the court heard she looted bags of food from Gregg's bakery . Her case was adjourned until September.

There should be not difference to this than stealing from a designer clothes shop etc.
It is the act that is the criminal offence, not the items.

I don't know I never signed it, so i fail to see how I can joke about something that is not my opinion.
But I would say the people who did sign may have that opinion?

So anyone stealing 50" tv's, trainers, clothes etc were

    Partially blind?
    Without footwear?
    naked?
    ;)

As I say it is not the item that is the crime it is the action.

What should we do to people who can't spell "lose"?

We should remove their benefits because surely this petitioner is unemployed when he does not even possess basic language skills.
Martin has asked me to tell you I'm about to cut the cheese, pull my finger.

    By a lonely prison wall
I heard a young girl calling
Michael they are taking you away
    For you stole Trevelyn's corn
So the young might see the morn.
Now a prison ship lies waiting in the bay

Just out of curiosity, was he later reinstated? Seems a bit unfair that someone could be falsely accused of a crime yet still lose their job.

No it was over a year later he was found not guilty and they never asked for the job back. He was not falsely accused he was charged. I think he was charged with a lesser offence though.

I think the view is you leave them in employment and something happens the company would be negligent.

You cant really keep them on until a case is finished.

Getting into a situation and being charged is what brings the company in to disrepute not the finalisation of the case. The point was they should have never of been in the situation in the first place to get charged.

So are you think there is a difference to looting greggs and a designer cloths shop?

Are you certain she was starving and the motive was to eat as many pastry based snacks as possible in the looting?

I would have as a guess the looting was not based on the impending death from starvation, surely targeting greggs tells you that.:D

For one thing it was probably nothing to do with riots, especially as it was in South Manchester.
