Getting into a situation and being charged is what brings the company in to disrepute not the finalisation of the case. The point was they should have never of been in the situation in the first place to get charged.

I know of someone who was falsely imprisoned and kept his job, his employers simply didn't believe he was guilty.

For one thing it was probably nothing to do with riots, especially as it was in South Manchester.

She was from south Manchester, not the offence.;)
A girl of 17 from south Manchester admitted burglary after the court heard she looted bags of food from Gregg's bakery

Google shows it was part of the riot cases.

She was tracked by flaky pastry and a police dog without a sense of taste :).
Police found a number one of empty bags and are looking in to them.

Of all the hours and hours of footage I've seen on the riots, there's only one person I've looked at and wondered about their motivation. They are the person in the photo here:
http://catchalooter.tumblr.com/page/7 looting a bag of Tesco value rice. They are the only person I've looked at and thought 'I wonder if there's a sad story there' and not 'greedy barstewards'. Not suggesting they should get away with it, just wondering if there's more to it.

    What do others think?

Could just be a case of clever damage limitation, after all if she spotted his photo a good chance the police will also, either way it is good to see.

What a shining example of mother-love. I think we can see where this poor kid's problems start.

I can't quite believe I am reading these two posts.

It's the right thing to do. For pities sake.

I wonder what on earth is going on in some peoples minds. Absolutely astounded.

Doesn't mean it was though does, are you saying that all other crime suddenly ceased for six days? the courts are just processing cases and numbhead journalists are jumping to conclusions :)

Interesting, must have been a small close knit company otherwise they could of ended up with a massive claim against them should the person charged committed a similar offence while working for the company or to a member of staff.
Getting charged and getting sacked bringing a company in to disrepute are not that uncommon. Think drink driving etc, some charges are just a formality.

You also wrote a load of nonsense before it, describing it as damage limitation. As if the mother don't just have a simple conscience and knows right from wrong.

I'm not thick. It's you writing it.

Doesn't make sense that at all, what if you employ someone who has been in jail?
