Hi LJD1
Good idea about breaking things down into smaller chunks, they don't seem so impossible then.
Tonight I have a date with the shredder. I have about 12 months of bank statements, bills and miscellaneous stuff to sort and I am going to be ruthless;). Now I do online banking and use the egg money manager thing to keep track of my accounts I don't open half the statements anyway so they are just clutter:mad:
Tomorrow i have an assignment to do:eek:
I will feel much better once these two things are out of the way.
Good luck with the studying.

Good luck with your assignment and the shredder, don't get the two mixed up! I'm only 5 pages behind my study callendar now but I have decided this will probably be my last OU course. At the end of the day I getting a degree won't increase my business at all and though i'm enjoying it I think there's a limit to what you can put yourself through. I think i'll just study for this one and enjoy it and then who knows, I can always take it up again in a few years if things change.
Becareful what you're putting in that shredder! No finished assignments!
Have fun with it xxJanuary budget

Hi LJD1
well I'm on track so far, got lots of shredding done last night and cleared two thirds of my paperwork. The other third is now neatly filed in box files and sorted into some semblance of order. This has now encouraged me to tackle the desk drawers:eek:  which are generally home to all manner of bits and pieces that people just shove in there.
Tonight I am doing my assignment:A . I'm feeling a little like you are with regards to the studying but I know if I stop after these courses i will never go back to it, I have an all or nothing type of personality. Getting more organised is helping though as i'm not being dragged down or distracted by the clutter.
Have you got any goals for the weekend??

This feels horribly familiar. Only it's me that fills them up, Tend to suffer from 'it-might-come-in-useful' itis :rotfl:
So there isn't space for stuff I should be putting away0 -
Well, some good news today. One of my clients asked me to buy a raffle ticket before christmas which I did. I've won £450! I am so pleased! So, it's a night off for me. We're going to go out to a friends house and have a takeaway (last of the big spenders!). I'm going to carry on Kickboxing and that'll leave about £350 for debts! Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Then tomorrow i'm going to finish this weeks study and have half an hour of shredding - think my paperwork breeds!
Good luck with the assignment Sophiesmum, hope it's an interesting one!January budget

Wow, brilliant news! Well done! I love it when fate sends these little messages of encouragement. Now you can get your kickboxing stuff without even the tiniest twinge of conscience.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

That's great news about your win:j :j .
At least now you won't feel bad about buying the stuff you need to carry on the Kickboxing:D .
At the moment I am suffering from a bit of assignment avoidence, but I have set myself a deadline of 7:30 to get serious.
Although I do now have a lovely clear and organised desk and drawers, and I did find a book of stamps and a bag of 20p pieces that I had forgotten about.
Hope you have a great night at your friends, enjoy the take away too.
Woo Hoo, guilt free treats.:j

Thanks for suggesting this.
Can't believe how much clutter I had in that desk. Still working on it but can already see how much more space I will have for things I need to put away.

Hi Crafty scholar,
Hope the decluttering went/is going well. I can't believe the stuff that was in my desk, I found about 40 pens, enough pads of post it notes to decorate the lounge, and all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff including a spare set of keys to a car we no longer have, at least 6 partially eaten packs of mints, and three odd socksalways wondered where they disappeared to from the wash now I know -they were colonising my desk drawer:rotfl:
have also decided I have a stationery fetish judging by the amount of stuff hoarded in there, must try and not buy any more stuff.:o
Anyway have done half my assignment, and as closing date is 26th and not 21st as I had thought I have given myself permission to do part 2 tomorrow.:D . have to say though it was lovely working at a clear desk - very liberating, now just have to try and keep it that way:rolleyes:
Take care
