Is that £100 for the classes? If you need equipment I can get discount and may be able to save you some money...0 -
Hiya
That's really kind of you MartialArtMan only I put the order in online last night so I couldn't change my mind again about carry on. It ended up being £75 for the head guard, gloves and insurance that we, apparently, have to have. Wish I hadn't been so hasty ordering now!
Sophiesmum we had a lovely evening thankyou. Feeling slightly fragile today even though I only had two glasses of wine...I'm just not used to having such a late night and we still had to be up early for children's swimming lessons. Might give studying a miss today and just take the dog for a nice long walk to clear the cobwebs! Hope you get that assignment finished today and acheive your goals.
Today i'm going to;
1) Half an hour of paper work
2) Get all my notes in order
3) Bug husband to cancel credit cards! He's still not actually done it and I thought he had. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Have a good day xxJanuary budget

Having another big sort out today of all our paperwork. Is it just me or does anyone else find that paperwork breeds! We have piles and piles and piles of the stuff. I'm thinking that you have to keep 7 years worth of statements etc but that seems a very odd number so please can someone tell me I'm wrong! xxJanuary budget

Yes ...paperwork does breed at an alarmingly fast rate........I 'start' numerous sort outs.....only to stop and read everything that I should probably start thowing away:rolleyes: I mean really...if I've not looked at a magazine that I've kept for over 2 years...for the short story (inspiration for writing blah blah....possibly actually doing some of the writing course I bought XXX years ago!)...then I really don't need to keep it! AARRGGHH!
I've got a couple of days off, so I'm going to do a proper sort out....I have a filing cabinet...and the stuff in there is all in order...unfortunately the growing number of piles of paperwork in my spare room (aka junk room) are not.....looking for important paperwork this morning and it was not in the pile it should have been! I was obviously having an off day when I last sorted...either that or I've stood over most of the stuff and mucked it up:o0 -
Good luck with your sorting! We have a lovely big four drawer filing cabinet. Funny how it's not very full but the boxes around the room are! I've made headway this week but still not sure how long to keep bank statements etc even though I asked this question last year i've forgotton the answer.
I've caught up with all my studying too as i've used it for a diversion tactic to keep myself busy. It looks like my 6 year old might need another operation. It's totally unrelated to the others but I just wish it wasn't him. Nothing serious accept it's all serious when it's your own child. Time to count my blessings I guess.
Hope you don't spend your whole two days off filing - we might just allow you half an hour off for good behaviour.
Have fun!January budget

Todays tasks
1) Finish sorting paper work (i'm sure i've said that before!)
2) Make a list of all credit cards etc and pin it all over the house so hubby cancels the ones we're not using
3) Sort out study so it's immaculate so I won't mind spending time in there. For me decluttering the place really helps when trying not to spend money etc.
Right, that's enough to keep me going today. Hope you're all having a good one xxJanuary budget

The good news is that hubby finally cancelled one of the credit cards. Still working on the other one. He wants to do it but is just too laid back for his own good.
The bad news (and a bit of good news) is one of our cats has been poorly again. It didn't look like he's make it but £200 later and we've got him for a bit longer at least. The moral of this story is look really carefully before you buy insurance for pets. We had ours insured but it only pays out for the same condition for one year. If you're getting a pet make sure you get a policy that pays for lifetime of the condition.
So, a bit more in debt. With this and house repairs that we had to have done before christmas we're back up to £7000. I am going to work so hard to pay this off by christmas. So it's essential shopping only from now on and i'm going to start owning up to every penny I spend on the 'what have you spent today thread'.
Hope you're all having a good day xxJanuary budget

Well, I think i've managed to talk my husband into selling one of our cars. One is an x reg but in good condition and the other is bigger, gas guzzling P reg which we won't get much money for but we'll save at least £100 a month when you take into account insurance, petrol, tax, servicing etc. It'll mean we can definitely get straight by Christmas when could save for a new car - slightly bigger than the one we have now which will suit us both. I'm so pleased he's agreeing as i've wanted to get rid of one for over a year. Another benefit is we'll both get fitter!January budget
