    Hi Lara

My BF still lives with his parents ( don't say that phrase... I know:rotfl::silenced::silenced: ) and the engineer was very understanding when he phoned and she told him to " Bug*er off, I don't want a new washing machine". I've also been told it's best I don't come round till tomorrow as she is a bit stressed out at the moment. Bless her.

It is first class service ordering machine on Saturday and having it installed on the Monday.

For your needs I think the ISE5 will suit you fine. You can contact your nearest installer via this link to see whether they have one in stock:

BF is going to do a load tonight with me instructing him how to do it over the phone. Men!

As K knows I've got the Miele W3922 ( thanks CSA ) which is now discontinued, but I've had a great laugh watching a youtube video of a guy filming the spin cycle. There are also vids about the maintenance too in 3 parts. I can't wait.:A

    But I digress...

Two things I always do after every wash is take out the compartment drawer and dry the inside of the machine, wipe round the door seal then leave the door open for a bit so it can air out.

I must be sad, but my machine is spotless.

been waiting for my old servis washer to die on me for the last 2 years as been interested in getting one of the ise's for awhile now.. but its still going strong will be 12 years soon not bad for 150 quid!
anyhow wanted to know if there are any ises i can go and see and measure up locally am in the east mids airport area and i know my local chap in loughborough hasnt got any to see..
what i really wanted to know was the min depth that they are. do all the pipes at the back keep within quoted depth or do you need another inch at the back for pipes etc
have been really suprised that ise havent become more well known, and their website news doesnt seem to have been updated for awhile so did think they had stopped making them..
any help much appreciated and any tips on how to kill my servis machine?! :-)

    Hi All.
I've been looking at new washing machines and am very impressed with the ethos of ISE and am seriously considering one of their machines. But one thing is slightly worrying me, how do I gain reassurance that the company will still be around for the next 10 years? What will happen if they are not? Does the warranty cover this situation, by which I mean will it be possible to get a repair done by an engineer under the warranty even if ISE are not around?

    Hi jollyme,

The ISE warranty, unlike most all others, is insurance backed by a large commercial insurer. It was AXA but I know it changed recently to one of the other commercial insurers.

So, it really doesn't matter what happens to ISE or the retailer really, the warranty would still stand and you'd still be covered.

  • Yoo hoo all.

    I am new here, hi.

At the point where, having spent ages reading all about washing machines, doing a lot of agonising over lifetime cost and all that, we've pretty much made our decision for an ISE 10. Even my mate the stingiest woman in the world has got one and raves about it, so I'm convinced.

However along with her warm words about the product, she did warn us that when she got hers, it took 6 weeks to arrive, something to do with a shipment that went astray. Despite which, she would fully recommend.

So now I am wondering, does anyone have recent experience of delivery times from UKWhitegoods?

I ask because, proper cheapskate, I'm waiting for the old machine to die first. It's a horrible 6-7 year old LG that started making howling noises almost immediately after the warranty expired, and that has recently pretty much given up spinning. Which is OK while the weather is fine, but I need to replace it before winter when I won't have the sun around to dry my dripping washing.

Should I do it now? Or wait a bit? :o Any ideas welcome!

    Love
    Sally

I also had a long wait, maybe mine was in the same shipment as your friend's!
I would ring the head office and ask them whether the machine is in stock, and if it's not, when do they expect them in? That's what we did.
Unfortunately my old Zanussi had finally died, ISE had none in stock, so I was without a washer for several weeks. It was unfortunate, but I don't regret getting the ISE for a minute.
If I were you, I definitely wouldn't wait for the old one to die first.

I bought mine (not installed yet as my new kitchen flooring has been out of stock) from one of the list of local stockists provided on the ISE website: http://www.iseappliances.co.uk/. The price was cheaper, too. It didn't take long for mine to come into stock, but the man did tell me that delays were sometimes possible due to demand outstripping delivered stock.

Give either UKWhitegoods or your local stockist a ring and ask.
  • Thanks madget and newleaf for those suggestions, I'll try both. The sun is still shining and the washing machine still sort of goes (though I can hear it making worrying noises on the other side of the wall), so urgency seems not quite so much upon me, but I know I have to do something soon - it's Somerset for goodness sake, sooner or later it's going to start raining. Glastonbury weekend, at the latest...

You're welcome, Sally. My old one had a death rattle for a couple of weeks before it finally went to the great laundrette in the sky. Hope you manage to get your new washer with no problems. :-)

That's how mine started its demise! The noise gradually became unbearable and a nice man came to look at it, but refused to mend it because of its age. Don't say I didn't warn you ;)
