What's the Northern Irish reaction to the rioting in England?

 Oh err missus!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
look at it this way. Jail apparantly is like a holiday camp. The Glasshouse isn't. They get beasted from @rsehole to breakfast time by the staff there. 10 mile runs before breakfast etc etc etc.
Let them get a taste of military discipline. The army is much smaller than the Glasshouse was built to allow for, there are bound to be a few spare cellblocks.0 -
Westminster has no say in policing here. That's the preserve of Stormont.
The English Home Secretary doesn't want water cannon. Our MLA for Home Affairs does.
Simples.
Until very recently Westminster did have say on policing and Justice here, these powers have only been devolved to Stormont recently (this year?) - so when water cannons started to be used in NI, Policing powers had not been devolved and were still dictated from Westminster.
So its not Simples, Westminster has authorised use of water cannons against rioters in Belfast, but won't authorise use of them against rioters in England (Who imo are much worse than teh rioters in Belfast, who rarely resort to Looting)Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -

My point was, and is, Westminster currently have no say in policing here.
Op Banner conditions no longer apply either and never did in GB. They have used water cannon on the mainland before but they don't want to use it now.
With no disrespect; that's their choice.

Water canons are go!! Cameron says yes to using water canons
I think it's turning into a farce, at some point I'm expecting the benny hill theme tune to kick in when the news is on.
The Government and police are too soft, a majority of these looters haven't even hid their faces, they know they'll get away with it0 -
I agree entirely that the English forces have appeared weak in the face of the unrest by not using water cannon, baton rounds etc to stop the rioting but what they do appear to have done is arrest far more people than the PSNI did at any recent rioting here. I can only imagine most of those arrested were released on police bail fairly quickly as they won't have facilities to accommodate such large numbers but it is an interesting part of the equation in terms of comparing the different responses.0

They're going to get a quare shock when they get convicted on video evidence.0 -
I dont ever remember looting here over the years, bomb damage sales yes but never theft!
I once chased some travelers who had broken into a TV shop under cover of a power cut in Lisburn, not passed off as a riot but certainly looting. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Different circumstances though. PSNI have to be very selective to make anything stick. The GB forces may just be arresting willy-nilly to be seen to be doing something. They may not be able to get charges to stick - until the video and photographic evidence is processed anyway.0 -

I think you'd agree that one of the main reasons there was very little looting in Norn Irn was the fact that all the areas were cordoned off by SF when there was any kind of alert.0 -

Totally
Me and a few mates were on our way from the Lisburn Blues Supporters Club to the camp when we saw them breaking in, we chased them and took the stuff off them and robustly informed them of the error of their ways. That was the only looting I have seen or heard of other than in a song by the Wolfetones.
The shopowner got his gear back so that's the main thing other than his window was smashed
