  • Oh, forgot to say, can't remember who was talking about leaving breakfast for hours, but Gillian McKeith recommends eating with half an hour of getting up. This is because as soon as your body wakens, it expects food, so when none arrives, it automatically goes into starvation mode, meaning that when you finally do eat, more is converted to fat _pale_

I'm not a big fan of GM but this makes sense... I hate eating early in the morning, so I started having a banana first thing, then something more substantial a bit later - now I'm fine with eating early in the morning, and even managed porridge at 5:30am in my rowing days! Also, try starting the day off with hot water with a lemon slice rather than a caffeine kick - not sure of the slimming qualities, but I always think it's a bit mean to treat your body to such a harsh wake up, and your body needs a chance to replenish lost liquid which is done much better without caffeine obv! My husband swapped his morning coffee for mint tea, and he said that alone has reduced the amount of headaches he gets...

So, read loads of inspirational posts yesterday :T :T :T and felt fully motivated to go to the gym. Come home time I really didn't want to, especially as I had to walk home first to get my gear and a quick snack... then I cut my foot open on some glass, but I knew that whatever the excuse, I could not not go!

So I did - first time in absolutely ages! :j :j Had a stir fry for supper and then went to bed as I could feel myself getting hungry again. This morning weighed myself to see how much damage had been done recently (many Papa Johns cos they stuck loads of vouchers through our door :o ) - at same weight as when started my weight loss plan, so gained back the two I lost - not too bad! Now I promise to be r e a l l y good and really kick start my metabolism, to see if I can't lose loads before my break! :j :j :j :j

Also got into the Met police, and start training either March/April, so added incentive to get fit!

My aim in the next three weeks is to try and get to the gym at least twice a week (hopefully three) and also swim at least once a week (I have three free swim vouchers so this should work out quite nicely!). Longer term aim remains the same - get to about 10 stone, but also would like to be reasonably fit by the time I start Met training - or at least fit enough to not embarass myself in the group bleep tests! Right off to investigate Slimfast as SW failed miserably for me...

Hi Cat, enjoy Dublin, I can recommend O'Sullivans near O Connell Bridge, a proper bar, not a tourist trap and decent music, more folky upstairs and rock downstairs which is massive. Its like the Tardis!

The way I get around the gym excuse is to always have the bag packed and ready to go. It is in the car if Im out and by the front door if Im at home. It does work for me. Seeing as its the end of the month, just checked and I have done. I hope your cut isnt too bad though.

    Gym 17 session
    swim 5 half miles
    aqua 6 sessions

So I think I might have overdone it, as on Aqua days I have doubled up and went to the gym first. Shall I put you down for 7 sessions in three weeks? :D

Good luck with the training for the Met Police

By the way I never feel smug the next day, too knackered for that :p

:j I though Moneysaving was about saving pounds, but in this forum I seem to be losing pounds instead :j

Well I'm pleased with myself today!! Sandwich man came round work and I bought a twix but not for me - for OH. Then went and got petrol and looked at the chocolate longingly and went to the counter and paid for my petrol - bought nothing else!! No chocolate, no sweets, no crisps :j

My stomach doesn't feel as big as it has recently (though still been nearly as hungry) and I'm determined to get rid of some more blub!! :D

....I also keep a horrible "before" picture at work which is motivating.

What a brilliantly simple idea :T and now with digital cameras we don't have to suffer the embarrasment of taking film to be developed :o . I've decided to take one of me in the shorts that I want to get into when I reach my target, complete with bulges, gaping zip and muffin top uurgh! If that doesn't keep me motivated then I'm a lost cause.

To those of you suffering a sweet craving I had the same thing yesterday but the sweets are still safely boxed. I walked to the library and by the time I got back home the craving had gone. I hope you don't succumb, be strong to be thin :D
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!
