Can thoroughly recommend the "pink pudding" too :D

Making a big effort to go back to basics this week in a bid to shift the stubborn pounds. Made soup, pizza and pudding so far - who knows whats to come :rotfl:

Maybe if you keep your syns low for the rest of the week until your Weigh in you will be ok - I'm sure someone on here (maybe it was Lois or Consultant?) said that you could count your total syns over the period of the week, rather than daily. Can anyone confirm this

Did anyone watch Gillian McKeith? She made a lovely salmon dish - I think she marinated it in some soy sauce, lemon zest and chopped spring onions than baked in the remaining juice with sliced lemons on top. It looked good - would be syn free on red or green (if you used salmon as HEB). Might give that a try

KatieP - I have this same problem in my office. There are always tins of celebrations, biscuits on the go and they are very tempting. I try not to go near them because as Lois says, once I have got the taste for them I cant stop. Fortunatley our water cooler is beside the desk that the sweet stuff gets set on so I always reach for a cup of water instead :A Another girl in the office has seen me do this and she has also started taking a cup of water, rather than reach for the sweets! Again, Like Lois, before I eat something I have started to ask myself - what do I want more, this sweet/biscuit - or to be thin. Must be spending too much time on this thread if we are all doing/thinking the same thing :rotfl:

The only problem is that the cake spot is right next to my desk!!! I barely have to lift my bum to reach it!!! I'm gonna give Lois' idea a go for a week and see how it goes!

A healthy diet and happy lifestyle makes you sparkle inside and out so here are just a few ideas on how to increase the power of your sparkle.

    1. Have fun. A happy person has a happy attitude to life. Exercise your chuckle muscle every day. Not only does laughter make you feel good it tightens your stomach muscles too. It takes more facial muscles to smile than to frown.

    2. Do something that scares you. Watching a scary movie, going on the ghost train or doing a challenge that makes your heart beat faster is very heart healthy.

    3. Get emotional. Keep in touch with your feminine side and don’t repress your emotions. Letting them go is healthier than bottling it up which can lead to extra stress.

    4. Start something new. Whether it’s a new skill or trying new foods, it all helps to keep the interest factor high. Boredom is a diet destroyer.

    5. Get organised. Organise your daily life just as well as you organise your working life. This gives you more time and less stress. Both of these will enhance your ability to stick to your diet.

    6. Drink plenty of water. Water is present in every cell of your body. We have water in our blood, eyes, skin, and body tissue. How can you cry at sad films if you don’t have enough water to create tears? It helps us our digestive system to work efficiently, keeping food moving through our body aiding the elimination of waste products. Lack of water can make you feel low on energy and headachy and give you a dull, dry, flaky skin.

    7. Eat a rainbow. Fruit and vegetables of all colours are full of essential vitamins and minerals. Be adventurous and try some new ones.

    8. Cut down the caffeine, drink herbal or fruit teas instead.

    9. Get stressed. A little bit of normal stress helps to keep you on your toes and makes life interesting and varied. A life without any stress is a life of boredom and we know what boredom is.

    10. Chill out. Relaxation helps to calm you down, release tension, and control your breathing and heart rate. It is something you have to learn to do, not something that comes naturally to most people. Take 10 minutes a day to stretch out somewhere you will not be disturbed and try to ‘chill’.

Hi Loopylass and Honey - the advice I was given by my SW Consultant was that syns shouldn't be 'saved up' to have a blow out, but can be averaged over a week i.e. between 70 and 105 per week. You can also use flexible syns for a one off treat (usually but not always pre-planned! ;))

Now for the bad news - a 227g serving of fish & chip shop chips is 27 syns on original, 17.5 on green. Fish is free on original if you removed the batter, or 2 syns for 28g if not, 3 syns for 28g on green.

You could always put today behind you and start from Day One tomorrow. :D

  • petrichor in order to resist temptation I tell myself that if I really want a cream cake(or whatever it is) i can have one. But not today. I tell myself I can have one if i really want one at weekend and by the time I get there i generally find that I don't want it any more. Sounds a bit bonkers but it mostly works for me.

    good morning :hello:

i think i've found one of my problems!
my kids have me up at 5.30 (!!!) almost every day and that IS a very early start to the day and makes it sooooooooo long.
i don't want to have my breakfast then because 2 hours later i will be starving  - i have a cup of tea and wait till 8ish for my breakfast (cereals with milk) - but i want more by then having to wait so long!!
so any ideas what i could have before that????
no fruit or veg (there is only so much you can eat and not that early in the morning; and i am not a fan of yoghurt either :o)

anyways, i did get through the morning. i read my book with a cup of tea and i just had my cereals. but tummy is grumbling

i know eggs are ok too, but i don't want eat too many really.

    so any healthy idea?!?!??!
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work ;)
