Well Done Victory and Ciara, more great weight losses :T

KatieP - I have this same problem in my office. There are always tins of celebrations, biscuits on the go and they are very tempting. I try not to go near them because as Lois says, once I have got the taste for them I cant stop. Fortunatley our water cooler is beside the desk that the sweet stuff gets set on so I always reach for a cup of water instead :A Another girl in the office has seen me do this and she has also started taking a cup of water, rather than reach for the sweets! Again, Like Lois, before I eat something I have started to ask myself - what do I want more, this sweet/biscuit - or to be thin. Must be spending too much time on this thread if we are all doing/thinking the same thing :rotfl:

Does anyone know off hand how many syns in a piece of shortbread? Had a low blood sugar rush earlier and this was the only thing I could get my hands on until I got home and had some toast. Had no other syns today so not too worried. My consultant gave me a food diary to complete and hand in next week so want to make sure it is accurate

    Hi

I was a semi regular here in the summer, and thought I'd pop in and say hi.

Baby due in 6 weeks and 1 day (not that I'm counting or anything!) I've given myself a month after Lo arrives before I start, so I'll start to keep an eye for the great advice and motivation very soon.

I think I've done ok - not too huge - but mainly because it's been a rough pregnancy, lots of illnesses, and lack of appetite.

Anyway - I'll deffo be back - as we've just booked a fortnight to somewhere warm for August - so something to aim for!

Nice to see lots of the old faces on here - and lots of new.

Cathy - lovely to hear from you again. Is it really only 6 weeks to go, its seems like only a few weeks ago you told us your news. Sorry to hear its been rough but it will be worth it. All the best to you for the next few weeks, be sure to drop back in and let us know how things went!

I mainly popped back on to tell you that I had made the Smash Pizza and OMG it was delicious!! I thoroughly enjoyed every last bit of it and am very tempted to make another! The best bit is that it is totally FREE on green :T:T

IBS playing up big time at the minute so I will probably regret the pizza later. Try it, very easy to make and well worth it. DS, who it the pickiest eater in the world - hovered over me the whole time and wants one the next time I make it!

Congrats to all that have had good losses this week.

The trip to the library did the trick and I no longer wanted the sweets when I returned home.

I found that when I worked it was easier to lose weight due to the fact that temptation wasn't close to hand, we only ever bought goodies in if it was someones birthday and people got used to various colleagues being on diets and therefore brought fruit as well as cream cakes; also I was a lot more active having to rush about etc.

Now that I'm at home all day though it is a lot harder unless dd or OH are here. Usually I can do the mind over matter thing and do as Lois says to think if I really need the nibble etc but today I really could have scoffed the lot.

Perhaps I won't be as strong next time, and seriously, I would like to know how others in this situation cope.

    Thanks :embarasse
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

In a way being diabetic (insulin dependent) is less of a temptation as sweets, chocs, drink etc is a big no no so I don't have the desire to seek them out and make myself ill over them..... mine is portion size I like to eat but I digress...

Thel library idea was fantastic and it worked.... I have noticed which H kept telling me and I dismissed but is true is that if you go out and do some walking, keep busy by house-work(not sit and watch the tele) you do not concentrate on food and with excercise feel less like eating and I have to agree with him now....

I have struggled with hunger i nthe 4 weeks but when we went walking on sunday it was the first time in a while that a) I was not solely concentrating where my next meal was coming from b) I was not that hungry from the walk and could easily hold out until dinner time so excercise has my vote.

I often if no longer can tolerate it go and have a bath, clean something, empty a cupboard, drink some water, make a coffee and drink that instead, cut a cucumber up and chomp on that or the fresh peppers.

Also never tell anyone you are on a 'd*&t' that seems to make them offer you things, making it harder for yourself....

Busy, busy, busy is the answer plus in my case I have absolutely nothing in the cupboards that is in any way tempting...will not buy it until the weight has come off and not even then maybe....it was the OP say do you want the choc bar more than you want to be thin? My answer is no... I want to be thin, to wear nice clothes, for my BMI to come down... I want to be thin
